Druid yes. I listened to the whole thing. queen was a stand out actually, and I was initially pretty excited about the rest of it. but then the album just kinda fizzled. maybe its a recency bias, because the last half of the album really dragged for me.
and I work in an open lab space, so headphones are the only option. i get funny stares when I start air drumming at my desk.
This was my exact thought on the first listen, but gave it another today and found some real beauty in certain parts. Hopefully this starts to sink in more.

I still need to listen to SBTRKT, Lucinda Williams, the Gary Clark album i didn't know about until 5 minutes ago, give Perfume Genius another listen for Druid. And oh yeah, those prince albums coming out next week.
Then decide between any of those, GOAT, Hiss Golden Messenger, Tweedy, and DFA.
plus I really enjoyed parts of Ryan Adams, and Shellac as well.
and a live show from John Coltrane was release this month as well, and it is excellent, but I don't think I should include in my decision for AOTM.
Does anyone know when the Thom Yorke album will be on Spotify??
Never. All of Yorke's work was pulled from Spotify. Thom does not like the service, thinks it is bad for new music, and does not fairly compensate the artists.

Guess he is this decade's Lars Ulrich. Oh well. Gotta stand up for what you believe. He will certainly be able to sell more records without it. I think the site is good for new bands and discovering new music that might otherwise go unheard.

Off topic of the thread so you don't have to read this..
But I was talking to my uncle about why my Grandma Mandy has to move and all this shit... well, apparently because of Spotify (and similar services including Pandora) artists and artists' families don't even get royalties, or at least not near what they used to. I guess when tapes and CDs first came out a penny or so of each sale used to go to the artist for royalties and they even used to get a cent or so off sales of listening devices (the CD player, tape player, etc.) Well, with streaming services there is no way to give royalties out. So basically, my Grandma Mandy who used to make around 500k/ year about 10 years ago now won't even make 200k this year. That is still a lot, but when you factor in the fact that she lives in Palm Springs, CA and has lots of health issues that require a 24 hour in-home nurse, and just the fact that she's made a living off of nearly double what she's earning now, I guess she's hurting. They're going to be holding an estate sale to make some money and get her into a less expensive home and everything. It's really sad. With that being said, I LOVE Spotify. It's the best thing since sliced bread for me.

Amazing month. Tough call between Tomorrow's Modern Boxes, Syro, and Mr Twin Sister. Plus the FlyLo leak means I have that on repeat instead of the others; honestly if FlyLo was a Sept. release I'd vote it over all the other albums.

Now, obviously my taste in music sucks, but while I think Syro, MTS, and Commune are all good, the front runners for AOTM for me are Thom Yorke, SBTRKT, Alt J, and Perfume Genius as a dark horse. But again, shitty taste.
The new Weezer album leaked. Definitely go purchase it when it comes out in 2 weeks. Sounds like a great combination of Blue-Pinkerton-Green. Definitely the best album they've put out in a very long time.
I know that this doesn't actually release until October, but I agree and think everyone should give this a listen. I have written off Weezer and hadn't really given much time to their recent releases, but this a good album in an already packed October.
