Out of curiosity, does anyone else get emails from new releases now?
I do now.
You're welcome. It is pretty cool, every Tuesday you get a list of albums released this week and what is out the following week. I started getting them about 7 years ago (holy shit!) when I was the webmaster for Old Point Bar. I am not even sure how I started getting them, but it is one of my most anticipated emails on Tuesday.

Ava Luna - Infinity House may be another contender for my AOM vote
I'll put it on my list for tomorrow. I just listened to the JLin record Dark Energy and really liked it. I'll be on that for a few weeks, I think. Kinda a more footstep-y Clark, imo.

It's a good album - Kind of a wonky Real Estate vibe to it - maybe mix in some Dirty Projectors too

I wanted to see Waxahatchee in Gainesville, but the venue's crowd for a recent Hundred Waters show was so fucking terrible that I don't even want to bother.
Do you ever feel like as soon as the month is over you find another album that could have been who you voted for? Scuba - Claustrophobia is March's for me.
Yeah Scuba's album was sick. Surprised it didn't get p4k's best new music.
Ok, sorry to reopen this, but I keep trying to get that Kendrick Lamar album and it's just not happening. I start getting tired of it around "this dick ain't free" lyric over the free form jazz, am exhausted by "I remember you was conflicted, misusing your influence. Sometimes, I did the same", and am just over it by The Blacker The Berry. When Kendrick starts his speed rapping, I can't understand what he is even saying and really am not even feeling the music behind it. There are two songs I do enjoy (How much a dollar cost and complexion) and I think the production on it is AMAZING, but for the most part I think the songs are boring. I'm not trying to start anything, I'm trying to understand this album. I want to like it, I am just getting it right now.
I hate to eat my own words, but the Kendrick album finally clicked with me. I get it. It's a really good album. I still don't think I would have voted for it, but it's damn good.

It's funny how that happens sometimes. I remember I didn't understand LCD Soundsystem and Animal Collective for a while, and now they are two of my favorite bands. I used to rail against Bon Iver because I thought it was annoying bullshit. Then one day, it all just made sense. Interestingly enough, now I don't like Bon Iver anymore haha.
I think sometimes music just needs to fit into your life at the right time.
OH what?! All you had to do was say White Denim. I'll absolutely be getting on this soon. Thanks for the tip!
He cancelled his US tour. Very bummed about that
Oh damn. I see that now. Ah fuck he would have played at one of our smallest venues in town for only $12. I hope there's a rescheduling at some point in the not too distant future.

So is White Denim taking a break... or did they split?? I haven't heard any news on them.

James sent out an email for Bop English and said he was writing the next WD album, so we should see something in the near future.
Decaanter they were going to play a ~150 cap room in Philly for about $12. Was really looking forward to that shit

The first part of that is awesome news. The second part of that is just mean. The venue here was ~250. Both of those sound awesome and I love that venue. I hope he comes back and plays both of our respective venues.
Braids - Deep In The Iris Waxahatchee - Ivy Tripp The Very Best - Makes A King Bop English - Constant Bop Miami Horror - All Possible Futures Suuns and Jerusalem In My Heart - Suuns and Jerusalem In My Heart
Waxahatchee and Bop English are the best so far. I'm loving Miami Horror's newest though, goddamn.
Really wanna listen to Waxahatchee, Jlin, and The Very Best. Impossible to find anything that isn't blocked over here though.
Actually don't think I've heard ANY releases for April.
Ugh. That's horrible, man. I go crazy after just 2 days without listening to something new. I couldn't imagine not hearing anything all month.
Everything that I've said, scratch that. Bill Fay, in just under 55 minutes, destroyed everything that I've heard this month. Possibly for this year. I'm on my second listen and it's my favorite release from him, ever. The subtle strings compliment his piano so much.
