Honestly, my real #1 for the month is Ryan Adams Live at Carnegie Hall, but since it's not new stuff I'm voting with my 2nd most played for the month.
Woah woah woah hold up. Does the album we vote for have to be completely new material? I thought the idea was just to vote for the album released during the month in question which you think deserves the most praise or which you listened to the most and/or feel has the most value, etc, etc. For example, I voted for Ty Segall Band's Live In San Francisco in January and nobody said shit to me. I say if custeph wants to vote for Ryan Adams' live album she should be able to do so.

Fuck it, you are right. Editing my previous post now.

I think everyone has always been okay with live albums. There has been much more debate about EPs.
I hate to eat my own words, but the Kendrick album finally clicked with me. I get it. It's a really good album. I still don't think I would have voted for it, but it's damn good.
I think sometimes music just needs to fit into your life at the right time.
This is so, so true.
Right now, I'm leaning towards Waxahatchee for the month, but I'm gonna give it a few more days. Votes have to be in when?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

It's funny how that happens sometimes. I remember I didn't understand LCD Soundsystem and Animal Collective for a while, and now they are two of my favorite bands. I used to rail against Bon Iver because I thought it was annoying bullshit. Then one day, it all just made sense. Interestingly enough, now I don't like Bon Iver anymore haha.

How very true. One of my best friends tried to get me into MMJ around the time of It Still Moves, and it was just too much granola twang for me at that time. Then 5 years on, I decided to check them out at Bonnaroo '08. A similar situation happened with Radiohead. My older brother played OK Computer every afternoon for months after it came out, and I just wasn't digging all those robot voices and anarchic guitar riffs. Then I overheard one of the slower tempo songs towards the end of the album and had to hear it again, so I would swipe the CD from his room whenever he was out.
March will be one of the best months for music this year. Most other months I'm pretty certain I would have voted for Kendrick, but I've just really been digging Courtney Barnett as of late.
1. Bop English - "Constant Bop" 2. Alabama Shakes - "Sounds & Color" tie 3. Young Fathers - "White Men Are Black Men Too" tie 3. Brian Jonestown Massacre - "Musique de Film Imaginé"
My #1 and #2 picks were very close... Alabama Shakes' new album really grows on you after a few listens. Bop English is so much fun to listen to, though.
On a side note, Ryan Adams' Live at Carnegie Hall is still by far my pick for live album of the year.
Honorable Mentions: 2. Live 1998 (AKA Live In Chicago) by Bedhead 3. Black Cloud Erupt Us by Dove Hunter 4. Live At Carnegie Hall by Ryan Adams 5. Constant Bop by Bop English

It's odd, I feel it's less controversial voting for an EP than a live album. I almost voted for Vince Staples over RTJ2 back in October.
I haven't listened to some albums yet (most notably Ryan Adams) - so my current April thoughts are: 1. Alabama Shakes 2. Bop English 3. Toro y Moi
And goddamn I thought I was gonna use today to decide between Waxahatchee and Bop English, but this Young Fathers album is pretty damn good. I'm glad I blindly bought a ticket to see them in a week.
