I don't think Rancid is getting enough love here. Royal Blood, Big Boi, Lorde, and Portugal, the Man are all good. I don't like this Young Thug album as much as past but I like it. I love the new Jason Isbell and Fleet Foxes. I'm about to check Songhoy Blues. Right now I'd probably say my top 5 for the month are: 1. Fleet Foxes 2. Rancid 3. Jason Isbell and 400 unit 4. SZA 5. Portugal, the Man
Alt-j while I liked several tracks a lot, the album was disappointing. I enjoyed it, but I don't love Planetarium as much as the rest of the board.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

spectre folk, songhoy blues, ride, big thief, and kevin morby are my favorites so far.
also enjoyed beach fossils and benjamin booker quite a bit as well.
portugal. the man effort is probably their weakest album, imo. Lorde was all right, don't really get the universal praise it is seeming to get though. I doubt I'll listen to it again.
I'm pretty sure I'm not voting for Lorde, but I feel like Antonoff put all he had into it and then was like, 'oh shit I guess I gotta do bleachers stuff', and just threw something together.
Do it. That tour was pure fire last year. Plus, Meg Baird? It really doesn't/didn't get any better. I'm hoping for another show closer to me before I commit.

Spoiler Alert: they play as a duo, too.
Tonight!
Enjoy!! One of the best shows you'll see this year, imo.

Oh cool, LCD backlash.
This month has been crazy stacked for me, and that's even before Vince on Friday. Gun to my head I'd go Royal Blood, but Lorde, Fleet Foxes, Planetarium, SZA and Benjamin Booker are up there too.
What are people on here thinking on the new Young Thug? My reaction has been... mixed

I liked it fine. Jeffrey was better, but it's an interesting choice of direction. I added a few songs to my library and there were definitely tracks worth skipping, but I can only get so into him anyway so that's bound to happen.
It's not so much that I'm trying to backlash on LCD as the competition is just stiff. They'd be third on my hype meter from the ones I listed earlier. I loved Abyss (Chelsea Wolfe's last album). For this one she added Troy from QotSA on lead guitar and it was recorded by Kurt Ballou who is my favorite metal producer. Zola seems to be going back to the heavier backing from some of her earlier work which was awesome. I am reservedly excited for The National because I thought their last album was good but not nearly the same quality as the three before that. Lastly, I just have a general reservation against reunion albums. They never seem to click as much with me.

All fair points! Was just worried all the "LCD ruined Bonnaroo" nonsense had spilled over here

Yeah. LCD at Bonnaroo is one of my favorite Bonnaroo moments ever. That thread is insane.

New lorde was really great with a couple of dull moments. The new Portugal is interesting and I'm gonna have to give it another listen before I make a judgement. It doesn't have the charm a Portugal album should have.

This month is already killing me and we have another 2 weeks with Tweedy, Vince Staples, Lapalux, Laurel Halo, Doldrums and Algiers. Not to mention Jay-Z for those with Tidal.
