Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Even though I love PTM this is surprisingly accurate. Although they did get a little jammy at roo.
See I know I have a memory in there somewhere, because it felt right. And I wasn't trying to be a dick with that description, I think of Tame Impala in a similar way, only I'd add Tame Impala adds that shitty indie fuzz tone to everything they do. Goddamnit I can't talk about anything without sounding like a dick today.
I can recall every Ben and Jerry's flavor I've ever eaten but I think I delete bands from my head to make room for new ones.
That sounds like an important tangent for this thread.
I'll start, though there are a couple of names that might be slightly wrong:
Cookie dough Peanut butter cookie dough Oatmeal chocolate chunk SNAFU (Strawberries Naturally All Fudged Up?) Heath Coffee Toffee Bonnaroo Buzz Phish Food One Sweet Whirled Rainforest Crunch Banana Split Cherry Garcia Chocolate Cherry Garcia Boom Chocolatta Chunky Monkey Chubby Hubby White Russian Mint Chocolate Cookie New York Super Fudge Chunk Half Baked Vanilla Bean American Dream Cone Late Night Snack Peanut Butter Chunk Blueberry Cheesecake
It's dinner time so I'll pause here. This is what I've got without googling. I feel like there's a second DMB one, possibly with a pun based on "You Might Die Trying" but it's just not coming to me.

I really enjoyed Gambino's first mixtape, Culdesac. It has some pretty good punchlines on it. Camp and Because the Internet didn't do a whole lot for me, but I enjoyed Awaken My Love. When it comes to his music, he's always seemed to me like one of those people who could be an absolute legend IF he was just a bit more talented. And by that I mean that he has creative ideas and an incredible work ethic and I think he truly does approach his music as an overall artist and not just a rapper, but there's a certain ceiling that he can't overcome, so his projects tend to be just good and not great. Sometimes very good... But still not great. He has moments of brilliance but I don't seem him sustaining that brilliance over the course of an entire project. It almost makes me feel bad for him because I think he's THIS CLOSE to being where he wants to be...but he just can't break through. A lot of good ideas but flawed execution.
I loved the first few seasons of community and 30 rock, though I haven't seen Atlanta. And his stand-up was just okay.

I've combed through Mr. Donald Glover's repoirt. I think Community was the first spot I noticed him at, and I definitely caught some of his first 'Roo set. I've said it before, but his first 20 or so minutes didn't grab me. I wandered 'round meanin' to find another show, but circled right back to his set and the rest of it he crushed!
His next set on The Farm I wasn't able to catch all of as my lady also wanted to see somethin'. But it was a step above from his last set!
I think I wanted to say more but I'm a little not sober...so...
Portugal jams more on their songs live than tame impala. I wish they recorded their albums like they play live but all their recorded stuff is terribly neutered versions of their own songs
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Recently I found a copy of their debut album on vinyl in my stacks I bought at RSD a couple years ago and never listened to. While there are certainly elements that haven't aged well, I still think Clown is a badass song. Great lyrics, great groove, heavy and crunchy as hell. Also FWIW, I see nu metal as the originator of the aggressive "drop" element that became so popular in dubstep over a decade later, and Korn's "drop" in "Faget" is still the best of the genre.
My opinions are definitely flavored by nostalgia. Korn was the first arena rock band I saw live. When that bass note happened during "Faget" I thought I was going to die.

This thread reminds me that many here are young. It's probably a good thing people like QOTSA and Jay-Z are back to save us all from top line, Childish Gambino and late night PTM.

How old are you?
I'm 33. 7-8 years have passed since Jay-Z was doing fests I think? This decade is a blur to me and I tend to forget all of the audience turnover since he was last active. I've taught groups older than young inforoo at this point.
The Coachella mainstage in 2010 that ran Them Crooked Vultures > LCD > Jay-Z is forever one of my favorite nights of music.

When there's a clear moment at my desk and I'm bored, I'll look at lineups past, and sometimes schedules. Seeing runs like what you mentioned really makes everything recent seem like garbage - which stings. But I guess there's not much we can do about it.
Korn fucking sucks. I liked some nu-metal back in the day, but never Korn. #neverkorn
That's a weird line to draw given some of their counterparts. They were at least in before the even more stale versions of butt-rock bands Trapt all of rock radio.
