Did I say my grandma? I meant the Jonas Brothers.
Butyea on the note of festival costs, that slippery slope can easily turn people away. A major reason why people travel far for Coachella is because they know that regardless of how much they spend on camping/hotels/rental cars/shuttle passes/whatever, it's worth it because the lineup and production are world class. But if they see that Eminem/Childish Gambino/Kendrick Lamar are doing a fest closer to them that won't require them to pay CA premiums on hotels/food/etc then they'll have one less reason to make Coachella their big trip for the year. With fests like Boston Calling and Music Midtown in a lot of major cities these days, Coachella's pull is gonna weaken unless they can thread the needle of booking big names that sell tix while also booking niche acts that set the fest apart with rarity. But personally, I don't think Coachella has anything to worry about. The entire brand is built around it being an experience like no other and there's more than enough competition to keep them from getting complacent. I just think the eye of the needle is getting a bit smaller so to speak.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide
He was like 6th on his day in 2017. I don’t think the needle has moved too much since
I mean, I wouldn't have thought so either but this tour is a massive upgrade for him. When he played SF in 2016 ahead of Coachella, he played the Fox (2800 capacity); now he's playing Bill Graham (8500). Last time he played LA was the Greek in 2018 (5870); now it's the Forum (17,505).
I mean, Ghost played the Forum. Dude has a lot of support in SoCal; acts of that size can play arenas in LA/NYC for weird one-offs. E.g. Passion Pit playing MSG.
But I do agree he'd be billed 3rd or 4th in his day due to GV's relationship with TDE.

Really REALLY love the new Stormzy song. I would like him back but don’t see how you can be Glastonbury headliner and not 2nd line Coachella. But also don’t see them making him 2nd line but who knows

When did the Forum hold 17,000 outside of a basketball game or a show in the round with ga floor? Get off wikipedia lol.
Schoolboy Q can play the Forum cause you need to realize the neighborhood he is playing in. When youre playing in TDE’s backyard, people show up.

Stormzy gets end of the second line.
What? Concerts hold more than basketball games in arenas given they can fill the floor, not the other way around. Unless this is a half bowl show.
And yeah, obviously it’s his backyard. My point was it was his backyard in 2018 too, and he played a venue 1/3 the size then. It’s a massive jump.

Think this through a little more, buddy. How many concerts have you been to that sold the seats behind the stage? Definitely the exception not the rule.
Not that I have any idea what point supre was trying to make in the first place...
