Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Nope. It's really good though. Really enjoying Scarlet Begonias into Fire On The Mountain then this fantastic keyboard solo on Eyes of the World. I'm getting excited for Interlocken or whatever it is called.
That's going to be such a rad lineup. It seems like there may be some logistic issues but let me know how that all shakes out.
If it IS fact who do you think offers more of the top 5?
Your question doesn't make any sense, but if Daft Punk does completely reverse the "no tour" position they've had for 6 months Bonnaroo is at a huge disadvantage because it falls in between the Primavera/Glastonbury gauntlet.
I should have stated the question better. I meant of the top 5 festivals who you thought would offer more for ten to play. You had a better answer anyways as I hadn't considered the Europe option. Wishfully thinking I was only considering Roo, Coachella 1 or 2, Sasquatch 1 or 2 (they are supposed to have separate lineups), or Lolla.
Oh god imarob found this thread. Shut it down, mods!
I know you've only been here like two weeks, Jeff, but if you're going to call someone out by name at least have the common courtesy to read the FAQ's on how to tag them so they are aware.
Is the whole office switching or just you? I could see an advantage to having two hours a day to work on things in disturbed.
But, extending a work week two hours a day would lead to many longer weekends and has savings. I can't see the disadvantages.
It's just me. My job doesn't have the best pay on earth, but they balance it out where they can with schedule flexibility and such. For example, I posted on my facebook yesterday that I put in my vacation request for Roo. Realistically, that just involves putting it in my outlook calender because no vacation ever gets turned down.
I've been on 4 10's for almost as many years. As long as your family situation is cool with it I find having an extra day off during the week for car appointments, dentist, grocery shopping etc. leads me to have two FULL days off.
And with flexible scheduling you can conceivably only take one vacation day for 'Roo (IE: Work Mon-Wed and Thursday as vacation) with the next workweek starting Tuesday to Friday. It all depends on your pay periods but it makes life much easier in my experience.
Onto another topic, I may have the opportunity to switch to a four day work week (same hours, just compressed into 4 days). Does anyone have any experience with this? Pluses and minuses? Aside from having a three day weekend every week, I also drive ~35 minutes (20 miles) each way to work, so the potential savings on gas would be a big plus.

It's the middle of August in Hotlanta and it's 64 degrees. It's the coolest temperatures since ever (or since they started keeping track in the 1800's).
Climate change may force a new nickname for your city.
So I found a dentist who takes my insurance and has good reviews. I had an appointment scheduled with him yesterday. I was in this little office filling out paperwork when I hear him, in a very condescending voice say something like, "I need you to put this into the computer NOW!" She started to say something and he said, "I don't want to look at you, I don't want to hear you speak, I don't want to see you breathe. Just do it!" She said "Okay" and he said, "I said I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOU SPEAK!" This is pretty much what he said, probably not exact but it was so mean that my whole body got really warm and I started to shake a little. I took a few breaths and went to the front desk. I said, "Excuse me, I'm done with my paper work and can I ask you a question?" I motioned for her to come closer. I said, "Was that the dentist speaking that way to a member of staff?" She stared into my eyes for a good 30 seconds and when tears started to well up in her eyes she said, "yes". I told her to tell the doctor because of the way he treats his staff I won't be doing business with him.
I went out to the car and made a facebook post, calling out the doctor and practice and then realized that she would probably get a tongue lashing if she was the one to relay why I left and I wanted to confront this guy as well. I went back in and asked to speak with the Dentist and she said it wasn't a good idea and he wouldn't come out to talk to me. She begged me not to put it on the internet, saying she had worked there for 10 years and it would harm all of them as they depended on that job and many new patients come from the internet. We spoke for probably ten minutes and I took down the post. I'm going to write him a letter directly. So, no tooth fixed and I feel incredibly sorry for those women working there. : /
I'm with you until you took the posting down. I'm glad you made a stand but nothing will change without people speaking out.
I'd be happy to drop an email or post to said office under the "a friend of mine went there for treatment" if you're interested.
Exactly. Daft Punk is rich twice over (rich parents, sold lots of records). They don't need the money or exposure.
I understand that they are at the point in there careers where they can basically choose where and when they want to play. I'm not saying they are selfish because they aren't extensively touring every city and major fest. But to just say "we wont tour at all" just seems odd. I always thought that most musicians love the satisfaction of playing live and seeing their fans enjoying the music.
Accentuate the "most" in your last sentence and you've solve the mystery.
HOly shiz that was fun! Never shot a gun in my life besides a BB gun and my first time pulling the trigger was on a fully automatic Uzi followed by some sort of glock machine gun yesterday! I'm not a fan of guns. I think gun control is a bit slack in this country..but that shiz was undeniably satisfying!
Larry Farnsworthimarob Dude works in the service industry. Yesterday just happened to line up with most of his friend's day off.
That makes sense, then. Congratulations on mixing two dangerous things and coming away unscathed.
Heading out to my bass player's bachelor party. I understand their will be large quantities of alcohol, party favors, fire arms and stuff to annihilate with those firearms! Fear and Loathing in Atlanta will commence in about T-30 minutes!
WHEEE!!!
I'm also confused by the Monday night festivities.
It's a matter of proportion that I am talking about. When I saw them in '08, it was almost totally newer stuff. The Outside Lands and Lolla sets have had a ton of stuff from Pretty Hate Machine, Downward Spiral and Hurt. I was just curious if people think that will change after the new album comes out.
Well, I hope so for your sake. With the new album there should be a fair proportion (1/2?) of new material.
So NIN's Outside Lands setlist has a lot of old songs on it too. Do you think this will continue until MOEMS or will MOEMS be more Hesitation Marks-laden since the album will be out by that time?
Inforoo: where people go to talk about shoving stuff up iamarob's ass.
With so many people talking about it they must have seen me at Bonnaroo and all that weight loss and working out paid off is the only reasonable explanation I can think of.
