Which is why I wonder there was a story about racism in football at all. Obviously if the team names can be derogatory there is a large problem that will continue to be ignored.
Haha I get it. But seriously, I could back up in detail why I enjoyed those shows so much in particular, but I won't bore anyone with that. All that matters is that I had an amazing time at those shows. Staying on-topic, this list isn't too bad, but it also isn't too good. You can't blame RS because they didn't make the list, but many of these choices are questionable (seriously, how could ANYONE think Petty is better live than Phish). No list will ever make everyone happy though.
When everyone stops worrying about this can you please change The Washington team name, please?
I mean, literally -- if you look up the word Redskin in the dictionary, it's defined simply as, "Used as a disparaging term for a Native American." This isn't even really debatable, the name is offensive not because of any sort of allusion or interpretation -- it's defined as a racial slur.
Seriously. It's very rare a baseball game is sold out here so why not "spread the love" and give every guy with small kids a chance to get great seats?
Don't get me wrong... I am a VIP guy. I am fortunate enough to have a career that let's me go VIP at festivals, concerts, and sporting events.
And I don't want to sidetrack to athlete salaries (IE: we should pay teachers, Police and the military more as they are WAY more important) but I'm ok with more people attending games rather than just the boxes selling out and it may also help scalping, etc. I hate when The Yankees come around and 5 minutes after onsale the tickets are on a secondary market for more is all.
To me: Sports are supposed to be about a family attending and having fun.
Does anyone go to those games? Why not just get nosebleeds and find better seats? (Forgive me, imarob.)
Duuuuuude....... I'm actually a big fan of how my local minor league team does things; Instead of reserved ticketing it's one price first come first serve for seats. Excluding VIP room rentals, of course.
I hate ticketmaster! I wanted to get GA pit tickets. $55 not bad. But then ticketmaster tacks on $20 fee. $75 is not as appealing. /quote]
$75 is still not bad considering Passion Pit is charging around $50 for a St. Augustine show. However, I share your admonishment of LiveNation/Ticketmaster.
I always try to buy from the artist or festival themselves if I can.
I wanted Tampa but couldn't get the tickets I wanted so went VIP at WPB instead. I believe Cruzan has a little more room for food trucks and beer tents anyways.
