Finally got my first response back from the job openings I've been applying to. It seems I've made it to the final selection committee.
It's for a hydrologic technician job with the Forest Service. The location I got an email back from is Blairsden, CA, which is about 3 hours NE of Sacramento, and about an hour W of Reno, NV. It's in the Plumas National Forest.
There were quite a few locations in NorCal I applied for, so hopefully I get one of them if this one falls through. I'll definitely be taking a pay cut taking this job, but I think it will be for the best in the long haul. First of all, it gets me out of the oil field, and out of Texas. Hopefully it will be a nice stepping stone into possibly the USGS (Geological Survey) with a hydrologist job. Plus I'll get to work in the National Forests, which I think would be pretty damn sweet.
Now to just find a way to still get time off Bonnaroo if I get a job offer. Obviously I'd take the job over going to 'roo, but going to try my best for both

That was basically my plan. Just let them know up front about it. Hopefully they're workable. And if they ask details about it, I'm going to a family vacation in TN. I mean, it says at the top banner, "Music festival family for over a decade!"

I'm able to cut my monthly student loan payments in half!!!
I was paying UP THE ASS for my student loans every month... so this is a big relief for the time being!
The only sensible thing to do is find another music festival or two to blow some money on. I went on a bender of a bachelor party in Austin when my loans were cut in half.

The shirt they sent with my street team posters was a size too small. For shits and giggles I tried it on anyways and it fits!! Not only does it fit but it fits well with a little extra space! I'm going to guess that the shirts run a bit large as it is, but it makes me happy that I sized down!
On the boooo side there is a hole in the arm pit and that makes me sad.
