So after months of thinking I was not going to be able to make it back to The Farm, one of my good friends changed his mind and can go now, Roo wont interfere too harshly with my summer class, and I have the finances worked out!!!! It was so many different variables that had to line up, but I'm so stoked to be going back for ROUND 2!!!!!!
Which means you're coming to Brunch correct? Which also means I'll get to hang with you this year correct? YAY!
How long has it's been since I told you guys that I loved you?
That long huh? Sorry it has taken so long so here it is....
I LOVE YOU!
I'm also kinda excited to see your faces in a few weeks. I was able to get my friend here a ticket so he will be joining me (as well as 2 other new Mississippi friends I've made recently) on my trip to Roo this year. The wheels are in motion my friends. I'm gonna love on so many of you.

Just finished packing my backpack for a weekend trip to the Red River Gorge with some friends. Presently listening to a newly acquired Beatles vinyl. Life is good.
When my brother went back to Santa Barbara for school after break in January it was understood that he probably wouldn't be coming home until Christmas. With my move in August and financial uncertainty I'm not sure if I'll be home for Christmas. So I honestly didn't know when I'd see my little brother again...
Found out today he's flying home on the 19th! So, like, 3ish weeks? Woooooo!!!! My heart is so happy. <3
Edit: and a delayed, but similar, yay! My dad lives in South Korea and I haven't seen him in over a year now and I found out last week he's coming home for 6 weeks during the summer!!!

That's the plan man! I didn't make it out last year because I was just overwhelmed with my first Roo, but definitely plan on making it to brunch this year. Woo!

YAY!
With classes coming to an end, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and am getting ridiculously excited about seeing all of you again! prepare yourselves! Hugs and leg humps all around!!!!
my sister is graduating from college on saturday, and leaving monday to go visit her fiance in london (they've only seen each other once since last summer). i wanted to give her some spending money, but she is so stubborn about accepting gifts. so i looked up shows in london while she is there, checked with her fiance for logistics, and just bought them tickets to walk the moon. they both really like them, and she can't complain about me spending money on a present for her because it's already done. i'm going to make her a passport cover and stuff the tickets in there. i'm so excited for her to finally be done with school and to go on this trip!
As expected, Sufjan did a full run-through of Carrie & Lowell last night - complete with that mind-blowing extended instrumental at the end of Blue Bucket of Gold. But I was thinking he might do a fairly similar tasting of his old tracks from what he did at the Philly show last month, at least 3 or 4 repeats from what I already saw. But nope!! The only repeat was Widows (and I have no complaints about seeing him perform that one twice, that's for sure) and of course ending the encore with Chicago. Additionally, he did both Casimir Pulaski Day and Concerning the UFO Sighting - likely my two absolutely favorite Sufjan tracks - and I was really disappointed he hadn't done either in Philly. I wanted to go solo so that I could be entirely focused on the experience for myself, and I'm so glad that I did. I was able to note nuances of his performance that I didn't from the first show, and he also talked a lot more during this show, telling weird cute little stories.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Happened to be on Twitter at the right time and scored tickets to a free Amanda Palmer show tomorrow. Yay!! Probably the last chance I'll have to see her for a while.
10goldbees, I was a french major in college and lived there for 10+ months (and also visited Amsterdam and Brussels while there), so FULLY expect me to stalk you. (added: I'm BonnieBlue something on both accounts)
Awesome! Lucky you! We were in Paris for 6 days and it wasn't nearly enough.
I hope you guys enjoyed snaps/instagrams the last two weeks! I could really only post when I had access to wifi but I hope I still sent out some fun stuff.
In one hour my girlfriend wife and I will head to the airport and jet off to Amsterdam! Then A bunch of places in Belgium! Then Paris! It's the farthest I will have ever been away from home! I'm a liiiittle nervous but incredibly excited! I've used an exclamation point in every sentence so far!
I know I've never met any of y'all personally but if you want to see snapchats or instagram photos from my adventures my username on both is maxfieldnewell.
FYP
Also, if you're still in Paris, go to L'as du Falafel in the Marais (best felafel and shawarma in the world, better than Israel) and Le Relais Venise de L'Entrecote near the Porte Maillot metro stop (arrive 15 minutes before they open- they don't take reservations and there will be a line. But it's worth it).
Ah snap I just saw this. Thanks for the recommendation man.
Also great heads up on the post fix. All of my friends fully expected us to come back engaged but that's still a while off haha. But seriously I'd say at least 10 different people all asked me if I was gonna do it before I left.
I'm so pumped for this wkend! -The Strokes have been my favorite band for 10 years or something and I'm finally goin see them for the first time on Saturday!!! -RTJ, tv on the radio and several bands that I haven't seen yet will be there as well -My buddy is driving up to chill with me the entire wkend (we haven't seen each other since last Roo!) -two other friends are making a 4 hour trip just to have lunch with me and BS for a few hours early Saturday, we've all been friends for 20+ years, but due to distance and the stupid thing called being an adult (uuuggghhhh) I haven't seen either one in over two years. Finally, when I come back home, it'll only be THIRTY more days until I leave for Roo and get to party with y'all! Can't fkn wait!!!
BRAND NEW IS COMING BACK TO OMMEGANG WITH KEVIN DEVINE & THE GODDAMN BAND!
and manchester orchestra! i saw the three of them together years ago when i was in college. so jealous!
I've seen Kevin Devine & Jesse Lacey play acoustic together a few times and Manchester Orchestra once at a festival many years ago. Excited to see them all together. Hopefully there will be much collaboration.
Apparently Brand New & Ommegang collaborated on a beer. It'll be available for tasting at the show so that's pretty interesting.

I just saw Manchester Orchestra at Voodoo this year (after trying to see them for forever), they were so fucking good! They were my favorite show of the weekend. Being on the rail definitely helped, but damn I love them.
