I got a ticket because my plates were expired a while ago. Anyway I forgot to pay the ticket cause I'm dumb so I had to go to court today to pay it. Interesting experience because I've never been to court before.
Anyway, the guy called me up, and asked if I got my plates taken care of and since I had he dismissed my ticket and I didn't have to pay anything!
Double posting on the topic, but I'm really excited about it. I finally got an internship for spring semester that I think is going to actually give me some useful experience I can actually use in the future!! It's an unpaid position working with a nonprofit.
But the funny thing is that this is the first interview that I've gone on that I felt totally relaxed and not nervous during the interview. I had so many things working against me for this that I'm shocked I got it. Interview was originally Friday but I had to reschedule because I was sick, then I had no nice clothes to wear because my bag is still lost in the ether from my trip and it has all my nice blouses, pants, shoes, etc in it. So I wore this dress and old black flats that made me look like a hobo going to a funeral. My ears are so clogged still from being sick that everything sounds like its underwater and I can't for shit. I kept coughing during the interview because talking was agitating my throat (again, still fighting sickness and allergies).... So much working against me that I pretty much accepted that I wasn't making a very good impression and just kinda approached the meeting more like a discussion than an interview and yet I somehow got it. WOO!!

I just got back from the Women's March here in Knoxville. It was raining for the entire march but SO many people showed up. I was surprised to see that at least 1/3 of them were men. While live streaming, I was focusing on the woman leading the chants and I saw that it was my good friend, Kathy. Later, I see another friend volunteering and tons of people I respect marching. With all the sadness that was Friday, I feel so inspired today.

Yeah, we went to our local march with some friends, and ran into one of my good friends there fer a bit. A decent amount of dudes showed up in Raleigh. Only one religious group kinda hecklin' (and the guy on the bull horn is a regular at my restaurant), and one guy out right tryin' to start a fight though.

One of my favorite pattern designers just asked me to join her group of pattern testers, so I get to try out the pattern and give feedback before it's released for sale (and I get free patterns)!

Really. I hate the colors, the flowers themselves, the weird veil, all of it. I feel like some grandmother dusted off all her fake flower centerpieces and set them up as props before tearing down her curtains to throw on her head.
EDIT: And her underwear thing is oddly reminiscent of a bridesmaid dress I had in the late 90s. I think that grandmother repurposed it.

it's so kitschy. it's like a bad high school spring dance background. I assume the whole aesthetic is intentional, considering they could hire whomever they want to take the picture. but it just seems like a poorly taken picture. weird lighting, really flat.

I'm so happy I'm not alone. yes, I know I'm not bey's biggest fan, but even I can't deny how beautiful she is. but this photo. I think it's the veil, but overall it's just tacky. I also get weirded out by exposed pregnant bellies (it's not you, it's me) so that doesn't help.SaveSave
