Well I hardly know anything about any of you so I'll go first...
I'm 25 and JUST got out of the Navy as an Operations Specialist for 4 years, there I was stationed on a Destroyer and went on 3 deployments, visiting 23 countries. Never once seeing the Persian Gulf.
Before that I went to college but decided I wanted to get the hell out of Detroit for a while,(ie Navy)
Now I'm back home after living in Denver, CO for a couple months (illness brought me home) and about to start back at college to finish my journalism degree. I'm not working as I'm ganking the gov't for all it's worth financially to me lol.
Anyways just curious as to how you guys fill your days.

I'm a Wetland Scientist. Work for an environmental consulting firm
Thats great, my 9 year old daughter, who is the smartest person I think I ever knew, has wanted to be a marine bio since she was 9 and came home the other day and was talking about wetland polution. We are always sending her to science camps to encourage her. Schools dont push science for girls.
That's awesome. I was lucky to have amazing science teachers growing up that really pushed me. I absolutely love it. It's a hard field to be in as a woman. Definately male-dominated, so I feel like I have to prove myself alot. But so far, its been treating me pretty well.
ps every once in awhile I get to help out with bat surveys and once a fish survey. Not many people get paid to go play outside. It's great

ha... It was a hoot. But looking back, it wasn't really thaat bad. With the exception of a risk of blowing up and a few irritating coworkers it wasn't too bad. I mean, it paid well and I had plenty of time to sit on Inforoo and bitch about my job ;D
I'm a college student majoring in communications and work as a movie theatre manager. I may have kicked you out of a movie before. It's okay. I don't go to movies because i'm loud and obnoxious too.
I'm a college student, and also a waitress at a senior living retirement home. I LOVE the residents! They're just too cute
My mom was executive director for retirement communities for 25 years. I hung around the residents a lot... they are great. They tell great stories.
I've met war heroes, civil rights leaders, doctors from when they still made house calls, and women who were breaking the mold before it was cool... I loved them.

I'm the Executive Assistant to the Director of a company that investigates Medicare & Medicare fraud. I'm also in school getting a degree in Psychology
I'm Director of R&D for a major manufacturer of seals and bearings so I get to work with rubber and plastics - material and product testing and development.

I'm a future crap delivery man. I bring future fecal matter to people's doorsteps! It's a fun job. I feel like a good Samaritan contributing to the bodily functions of customers. My job has also been referred to under Papa John's Pizza, but that's not what it is in my heart.
But since I've started college, I'm doing that full time. I go to Middle Tennessee State University and am majoring in the Recording Industry: Production and Technology. It's the most sought after music technology school in the country, so it's pretty damn amazing!

That's a pretty cool field you're going into. I'm in college for Journalism with the mindset I'll be writing concert reviews when in all actuallity I'll be the guy writing the Police Blotter or Classified, with pride of course.

I guess I'll chime in here. So how do I explain what I do... I guess I'm basically retired.
Mostly I volunteer, cooking a couple days a week at the homeless shelter and tutor at risk kids. Also volunteer on anything else I deem worthy as it arises.
I have a BS and MS in Chem Engr and worked for 10 years and got my PE as an Env Engr. At 40 my wife and I decided to stop killing ourselves at jobs we hated for money we didn't need so we both quit. She is now a floor nurse (RN) at a hospital (which she loves) and makes the money and keeps us with health insurance and I cook, clean, fix the cars etc.
We now do the semi-self sufficient thing by growing a garden and canning food, cutting firewood for heat, push mowing our acreage (with the meager help of our one useless goat) cook from scratch, coupon shop and never buy anything new.

Thanks! I was originally wanting to go for Journalism, I worked on the high school paper and all that. So cool for you too! Don't count out something badass like writing concert reviews or what not. There are SO many things you can do with that degree, it's crazy.
When I first saw this, I was like, Showerless Shakedown Vendor, huh, really? It's either this flu or the blonde hair, but sometimes it takes me a minute ... or two.
