i teach 5th grade.
and im tired.
I'm leaning towards teaching! I was originally going to school for Marketing with a minor in Journalism, but teaching really speaks to me.
Or school counseling.
My dad's a teacher and it's really rewarding.. plus benefits out of the yazoo and great holidays off... the pay is not too terribly great in Mississippi, but teaching is one of those things where you can swing a second job (my dad is also a soccer coach and owns his own landscaping business)
But, I go to school everyday, and I have an interview with Lowe's this Friday, just for a cashiering position. It pays really well though! Wish me luck!
I may check out your wood in the future if your in the Gulfport area!

I'm a future crap delivery man. I bring future fecal matter to people's doorsteps! It's a fun job. I feel like a good Samaritan contributing to the bodily functions of customers. My job has also been referred to under Papa John's Pizza, but that's not what it is in my heart.
But since I've started college, I'm doing that full time. I go to Middle Tennessee State University and am majoring in the Recording Industry: Production and Technology. It's the most sought after music technology school in the country, so it's pretty damn amazing!
Hello, fellow Blue Raider!
Ha! Why hello! That's the last thing I expected to get when I posted that! The only internet access I have is when I'm here on campus, so I don't get to sit on here all day long as I'd like to. So pardon the delayed response! But anyways, awesome a B.R is on Inforooo!

I'm an EMC major at Middle. We've probably taken a masscomm class together.
Hey! There's another! Yeah, we probably have. Damn gigantic LRC 221, I'd bet. Speaking of that room, I have a test in there tomorrow. ???
i help people open emails, find things on the internet and make up BS as to why people's computers are doing what they are doing... in otherwords, i'm an IT guy...

I literally LOLed at this, karma for that
My dad was an IT guy, until India stole his job ;D And I was the "computer prodigy," so I became my whole extended family's IT guy, so I feel your pain!
Legislative Aide for a Representative in Georgia. For a while I was working at my college radio station as a DJ and that is definately something that I would love to do when I grow up (I'm only 24 now).
Close your eyes. Picture a convict. What's he wearing? Nothing special, baseball cap on backwards, baggy pants... he says something ordinary like... 'yo, thats shizzle.' Okay. Now slowly open your eyes again. Who are you picturing? A black man? Wrong. That was a white woman. Surprised? Well, shame on you.

How ironic. My undergrad degree is in journalism. My masters is in teaching.
but i would never swing a second job while teaching. i was offered 40$/hour tutoring today.. and i wont do it. im too damn tired!!! lol.

I work for Cadbury in facilities and Ginger works for M & M Mars in demand planning.
No shortage of M&M, Gum, Dr. Pepper or Swedish Fish in our house
And you still like that stuff? I packaged Oreos one summer-didn't eat another Oreo for like 3 yrs. It was really sad
I love it, I work in Cadbury's Research and Development center. It is a pilot plant for all Gum and mints. Here are some of the Products we do R&D on. Who doesn't like to chew gum and drink Snapple ?
and yes teaching is largely rewarding after my many ahem not so spirit enhancing career(s) I found teaching/instructing (CPR,1st aid etc) as a kinda making up for my past and contributing to society in a worth while way it has been rewarding in ways that can't be described in words only by the act continuing to teach.
Kudos to pops it aint easy being a teacher on the salary they get!

I'm a business analyst/project manager at a logistics company. What does that mean? It means I make up statistics to prove my point and bug people about when they are going to get their work done.

yep, not many people even know who that it...karma....it's a relitively small program, as of 5 months ago Hood College(where I go now) was the only school in the country that offered a Master's, now one more school has added a Master'sprogram I think.

So I'm guessing you've seen Faces Of Death volumes 1-15?

That's pretty cool. I think it seems like something that would have a pretty important place in our society.

not 1-15, but I've seen a good portion of them, and I don't like them, I can watch them without a problem because of my training, but I have no desire to see them, I don't turn to Faces of Death to "have a good time"

I agree, given that our population is living longer, it's definitely an overlooked field now...but give those baby boomers another thirty years and people aren't gonna know what to do
