I didn't have any proper photos of my tattoos, so these were all taken with my cellphone and are pretty shitty, but you'll get the jist.
This was one says "Libertine" in Pete Doherty's handwriting. It has become kind of a tradition for Libertines' fans to get this tattoo ever since the second album cover with Pete and Carl (the frontmen) showing off this same tattoo. After that one night at a secret show in their apartment Pete took a bunch of fans to get the tattoo and said that "If you are a real tattoo, you will get this tattoo." Now it is tradition to get it after you meet either Pete or Carl, I've met both, and The Libertines are my favorite band, so that's the story behind it.
No big story behind this...it is the Maximo Park logo. They are my second favorite band, and I feel like their lyrics have had just as large an effect on my as The Libertines, so it seemed fitting to get a similar tattoo to honor them.
This is Henry II's shield, featuring the English lion. My great (x a Leno ton) grandfather fought under Henry II in France, and I really wanted a tattoo to honor my British heritage as I am a huge anglophile, and I still identify as British as opposed to fully American.
This tattoo is brand new, only a week old, that's why it looks so rough, and the foot still swollen. (It isn't lopsided, that's just the angle of the photo). It is the Polish eagle. My mother's family is 100% Polish, and because I had the English lion, it felt wrong not having something for the other side.
Ok Go ("But jesus when it rains does it pour"), Adele ("who wants to be right as rain? It's harder when you're on top", Kings of Leon "It rained so hard it felt like snow" master piece. 2 year project, messed up by 1 artist and luckily saved by his replacement at the same shop. It's a reminder of the hardest year of my life, to never forget what I've made it through to get where I am today. It's not 100% finished yet as I need the rest of the snowflakes filled in, but it makes me happy for now.
Circa Survive tattoo. I adore Anthony Green....nuff said.
I had this done at Iron Age Studios a week ago. I originally wanted the lyrics from Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise "Decide what to be and go be it." I decided the moth on the cover of 4 Thieves Gone would work well with it. Moth=change/metamorphosis, so it fits well with the theme of the lyrics. Sort of a reminder to always be willing to change and be a better person. When I went to get it done, they said the letters would have to be pretty big and I didn't want it that large. So I just got the moth instead. It's my second tattoo, the first one that is music related and I love it.
It was a little harder to pull the trigger on since I really wanted it to be somewhere I see it on a daily basis and that means visible to others as well. So far so good and I think I'll even be able to go without long sleeves at work.
Now that I've opened the floodgates of music tattoos, who knows what I'll do next. A Wilco tat might definitely be in order.
I thought mine were in here, but I don't see them and I'm sure I've had more since, soooo:
I also have 'REDRUM' on my lower lip, but can't find a photo, haha.
*edit: dunno why the last two are showing up so large, have edited in PB at least twice :/ Yeah, the pineapple was bleeding a little, this was while it was new, I need awesome photos of the Floyd and pineapple tattoos.

Some awesome work in here, which I probably already said somewhere in this thread. Here is my newest one which I got done in august I believe. I have an appointment for February, but am not quite sure what I'm going to get. I'm thinking a TMV album cover mashup.

I am definitely going if I can find someone to go with me, and I probably am if I cannot. I've never been to one, but I imagine at least one of the guys at the shop I go to will be involved with it somehow.

Took these for a starting point of getting into shape for this new year, but they do a good job of showing most of what i've had done. Unfortunately the quality sucks on the back picture.
I've emailed an artist about Hell City, if I don't hear back by Friday I'm emailing another, but still holding out hope for the first. I'll probably go regardless, but if artist #1 has room on his schedule, it's fo' sho'.
