Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The last couples of time we went we've stayed at the Golden Nugget downtown on Fremont St. (4 star for less than Strip).
Check out all the cool free (or at least cheap) stuff: - fountains at Bellagio - M&M World - lions at MGM - shops at Caesars & Venetian - auto museum at Imperial Palace (free w/ coupon, all cars for sale!) - huge $.99 shrimp cocktail at Golden Gate downtown - the excellent Fremont St light show - Casino Royal has cheap gambling & $1 beer - cheapest ($3-5) black jack is downtown (Golden Gate, 4 Queens, etc) - around 12->1p each day unsold show tickets are 1/2 price at several outlets, get there early
There's a slew or coupon books around, your hotel may have some too. Use 'em, never pay full price for anything. Go to your local bookstore (or even library) and get a decent guide book. I think our's is Frommers, it will save you a lot of time and $$$ with insider tips. Beware the trendy clubs - looong lines, $9 drinks... Everybody wants to sell you time-share crap, too. Sorry for rambling, we enjoy LV alot. Sure you guys will too and no matter how hard you try, you won't see half of it. Start planning your next trip...
las vegas local here...i agree wholeheartedly with everyone who said it before...go see LOVE...do not miss it...seriously...also, like mentioned earlier, ellis island is a great local grungy place with amazing karaoke...double down saloon(right by the hard rock) is a great local punk rock club with cheap drinks and they show a lot of 1950s porn and b movies on the tvs...the silverton casino is a couple miles south of mandalay bay and they are a fun place thats never packed...they have a lounge with a pool table and an old airstream trailer with mini bowling inside and a huge 2 story aquarium with stingrays and a live mermaid show...carnival court is a fun outside bar with crappy cover bands and great flair bartending...dont waste yr dollar on the dollar margaritas at casino royale, come down to margaritaville (i work here!) and get a perfect margarita and sit outside 3 stories above the strip...beer pong at osheas...grab a bottle of something yummy and walk around freemont and just people watch...between drunken tourists and tweaked out locals its a blast...try and visit hoover dam also if you can...dont ever cross a street against a walk signal(seriously)...and be respectful (not that i think you wouldnt) but it is REALLY appreciated and will get you much faster and better service since we're not used to it on the strip...most of all HAVE FUN!
Hey becca...have you ever gotten to see any of the Chihuly exhibits in botanic gardens? If I get time tonight I'll post some pics of those they were breath taking.
Made it to both Zumanity and LOve....I would have to say both were very good. the lasting impression has been Love, mainly because we saw it last. It was visually amazing, not as many acrobatics as zumanity and cirque sort of stuff, but it was mindblowing none the less. Can you imagine this at the ROO!!! wow.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
I'll be in Vegas in two weeks and reading this is making me excited. Have to have something to do to pass the time until Bonnaroo. The Roo dreams are realling picking up now!
I'm typing this from my room at the Motel 6, sorry Excalibur, in Vegas right now. Here for a trade show with time for fun but the casinos just leave me cold. I just don't get it; I guess I'm too good at math.
