Man, I used to be so into wrestling, and I'm just not anymore...I stopped watching a while before WCW folded and Vince bought everyone out. I'm glad he won, because I was always a wwf (and ecw) kid, but wrestling just sucks now. The storylines are absolute garbage, and there's just too many of them. Not enough wrestling, too many bra and panty mud wrestling matches.
Mick Foley was my hero, though, I still have his book.
I also still have a respectable collection of obscure Japanese wrestling tapes. Mostly J-Cup, All-Japan, and miscellaneous splatter organizations. Shinjiro Otani is my favorite.
^When I can, karma for appreciating Japanese wrestling... if only more people would watch old matches with people like Otani, Inoki, Misawa, Sasuke, Tiger Mask, or Muta, then I'd think wrestling would have a different level of respectability in our country.
People just don't understand ring psychology, though. They don't get the art of making it look like it's for-real. The worst part is that absolutely awful wrestlers get on television constantly, so it becomes a joke. No-sellers suck.
And they definitely don't know anything about Otani. That's the Japanese Ric Flair right there, total bastard.
I used to have a tape with the match where Kawada broke his arm on Misawa's head, and then gave him this completely screwed-up ganso bomb that looked like he should've totally broken his neck. I lost it, though.
What are some of your favorite wrestlers? Asking those who havent posted their list yet.
1. Stone Cold 2. Hulk Hogan 3. Mick Foley and all his alters 4. Sabu 5. Masato Tanaka 6. RVD 7. Mike Awesome 8. Great Muta 9. Jim Ross---i know he isnt a wrestler but he still rules 10. Megumi Kudo===never heard of her? she's crazy!
off the top of my head (in no particular order): 1. Ric Flair 2. Jerry Lawler 3. Tully Blanchard 4. Arn Anderson 5. Canek 6. Nick Bockwinkel 7. The Spoiler 8. Greg Valentine 9. JBL 10. Yoshiaki Yatsu 11. "Dr. D" David Schultz 12. Dutch Mantell
^Yay for the Bockwinkel love... he should be up with with Thesz, Inoki, The Strangler, Race, Sammartino (Bruno, not David), and Flair as the best of all time, all around... sad hardly any new fans know of him or his material....

This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

I have a couple FMW tapes and have seen Megumi Kudo wrestle. She is crazy. One thing I love about Japanese wrestling is that the women actually wrestle. They aren't models trained to take bumps and pull hair.

Here's another match Skolpadda was telling me about, I've seen many Misawa/Kawada matches, but in this one, Triple Crown 99, Kawada... well, I don't wanna ruin the surprise for those who haven't seen it.
I think before work, I'm gonna sit around, corn it up a bit, and watch my new 6 hour Great Muta dvd... should be something awesome.
I cant believe there are such educated Wrestling Heads on this thread. SICK.
I just got the Stone Cold triple disc set. and next i want some horsemen stuff and more FMW. Anyone seen the Forever Hardcore doc about ECW??? Really cool. SABU SPEAKS SABU SPEAKS
Forever Hardcore kicks sand in the face of WWE's Rise And Fall of ECW.... so much more candid and less "kayfabed."
My favorite part is New Jack talking about that kid, the Mass Transit incident, with such apathy. That man is insane. Also, the stories about Pitbul Gary Wolf and Shane Douglas were VERY interesting.
Just out of curiosity, what notable wrestling shows have you all been to?
I've been to:
Monday Night Raw, early February 1997, Nashville - Bret Hart loses the title to Sid, Owen Hart and Scorpio had a nice little match, and I met the Rock.
House Show, early September 1997, Nashville - Bret Hart vs. Undertaker, Owen & Bulldog vs. Lawler & Dude Love. Good show.
Smackdown, late November 2002, Cola - Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle vs. Eddie & Chavo Guerrero, Paul Heyman was booking the show back then, so it was an exceptional show.
Smackdown, early December 2005, Cola - Chris Benoit vs. Booker T was the only good thing about this episode. It was filled with Wrestlecrap moments, like Undertaker appearing in a mirror in Randy Orton's dressingroom, and Taker miming Bob Orton's voice at one point. Ridiculously bad, but funny, stuff.
NWA TNA house show, sometime in late 06, Irmo - Fantastic match in Jay Lethal and Chris Sabin vs. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels, best match Scott Steiner had in over a decade with Samoa Joe, and a great crowd made for a great show, a rarity for TNA. Also, TNA's first appearance in South Carolina.
Raw, early October 2006, Cola - John Cena vs. Undertaker, DX vs. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. Was a 3 hour show with people from all brands. Good show.
Raw, late March 2008, Cola - Last TV match of Flair's career. Not much outside of that, which was a great, great moment.
I have only gone to one WWF house show in November 1991. The main event was Legion of Doom vs. Demolition. I have also been to about 10 Lucha Libre shows in Tijuana (Baja California).....
