Went to Night Shift tonight after work. Picked up some cans for 'Roo, as well as a bottle of their just-launched Quadrupel, called Hermit. I tried it in a flight; it is top notch.
More on what I seen, with CT/RI getting New Belgium.
“Initial draft offerings will include Fat Tire, Ranger IPA, Citradelic IPA, Heavy Melon Watermelon Lime Ale (seasonal), and La Folie Sour Brown. In 12-oz bottles consumers will find Fat Tire, Ranger, Citradelic, Heavy Melon, Rampant and Glutiny (gluten-reduced). Fat Tire and Citradelic cans will also be immediately available. Slow Ride Session IPA, 1554 Black Lager, and Lips of Faith beers will become available as of August, 2016.”
I've had Fat Tire a handful of times, and maybe 1554 once. So, curious to try out a few of the others.
They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he fuckin' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the fuckin' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out.

I drank so much Fat Tire Saturday that I'm surprised I still like it.
Still have no idea how long NY has been getting New Belgium. Feels like it just happened this year though.

Last time I was in NY, it wasn't there. That was last October.

And then a few other randoms in my fridge.
I came back with almost half my beer supply this year!
And also fuck New Belgium and their shitty beer. Fuck them so hard.

I tasted probably 10 beers at the brewers tent this year and found my favorite Schlyfly's Grapefruit IPA. Unfortunately, they ran out on the last day and I was forced to get a grapefruit IPA from the stand next to them. It was not nearly as good and I didn't finish it.

TN will be getting Ballast Point in 6 weeks or so, the Grapefruit Sculpin is wonderful, even though it is an AnBev product these days.

Men's Health listed their Best Summer Beers (for men - forget the sexist part of this). One of the beers they listed is by a small microbrewery that is 300 paces from my side door (I've measured) and is owned by my friends, Zeroday Brewing. It's their mango habanero pale ale, which is my favorite Zeroday beer. Anyway, it was pretty cool for my friends to be part of this (sexist) list.

Is the habanero overpowering like the sculpin one? That sounds really good, though.
I don't think so, I think the mango for the most part counteracts the heat. If I had to like put numbers on it as far as the heat coming through, if I remember the hab sculpin it was like an 85 or 90. The Zeroday Mango Hab is like a 55-60? Pretty well balanced but definitely a spicy beer, if that makes sense.
I also love their beers for how new they are and because of their back story (he sold insurance or something, she worked at a car dealership, they made beer for friends parties and basically one night said to them "yeah, we're quitting our jobs to open a micro brew", and then like 3 years later...). If you have heard of Troegs (most have), they are based out of Hershey (about 10 min away) and at least one friend of mine who works at Troegs always thumbs her nose at Zeroday, which really pisses me off. She says things like "we're Troegs, we know beer" and I'm just like "you work in the gift store..." /rant

Thats the worst attitude. Troegs isn't even really all that special anyway.

I really didn't care for it until something clicked for me in like March. Now I enjoy the Perpetual IPA, and their Nimble Giants DIPA is pretty phenomenal (and going for $75/case). Nugget Nectar is good too, everyone around here goes crazy for it.
I actually didn't like IPAs until about six months ago, but learned to love them due to Zeroday. Theo, head brewer/owner over there, balances hops really nicely. Their Triple IPA (Large Ass IPA) was pretty fantastic.
