Well I suppose you guys are right. The Mingle Thread and Creep Appreciation thread aren't enough places to post multiple pointless pictures that contribute absolutely nothing to the topic at hand.
I suppose it is a good idea when trying to convince the mods to allow a friend back in to clutter the thread aimed at receiving suggestions and input to better the Inforoo community.

^^Hey I'm not singling any particular person out here. Besides, it's more or less approaching an 'everybody in here' level anyways. And I certainly never said that Foamhenge was any more or less relevant... but I atleast get some bit of knowledge or information than anything that I will ever get from a random picture that's whole objective is to waste space. But you're right... how dare people talk about Foamhenge when we could be looking at pictures of kittens instead!

i'm inclined to agree, becca. what i'm not so fond of is both sides acting like the other is the only problem. i'd say we've all been a bit ridiculous about this whole fiasco.
Foamhenge is going to be so great. I love the guy's sense of humor, plus he (Mark Cline) has two more installations in the area. Dinosaur Kingdom basically presents a world where dinosaurs roamed the earth during the Civil War and features a forest sprinkled with life size sculptures of dinosaurs chowing down on soldiers and civilians alike. Then there is his studio, which is set up like a haunted house - Professor Cline's Haunted Mansion and Monster Museum. All three are in the Natural Bridge area, easy access for anyone coming down 81.
Sorry for the hijack... but yes, both of those places are quite fantastic as well!
I wish the questions to the mods would be answered in public not through PM. That way we all can figure out what is going on. I mean this section of the site is just for comments and suggestions on ways to improve the site. I know that doesnt guarantee any discussion but it seems like if we ar working on ways to improve the site then why hide it behind PM's?

Exactly my point....I have been on this board for 2+ years now and this has never been a problem before. Now all of a sudden its this huge deal....I am very open-minded and very hard to offend, but frankly I think the whole situation is stupid and Im sick of reading about it. Its not going to get Creep back no matter how many Threads are created or how many threads are hijacked. Rules are rules....I think corn should be legal but guess what it doesnt mean that I can go around smoking it in public just because I think its right. By signing up for the messageboard, you signed onto the rules. And Im going to go out on a limb here and say if you dont like the rules you can always start your own messageboard with your own rules. Im sick of getting 2 pages into a thread and it all turns back to the same thing. Creep, prudes, mods, blah--honestly the situation is old and at this point I could really care less about it. I enjoyed inforoo because at one point it was different than other messageboards and it was this way up until the beginning of this year. I could carry an intelligent convos about a plethora of topics with out the immaturity that is usually present on a messageboard. However, that is not the case now. And while I am only one member, I am obviously not the only member that feels this way. I dont want to have to open a thread and worry about seeing something I dont want to see--so everyone says "you dont ahve to use that option/dont read that thread". Exactly what ive done and thus why I havent been on for almost 2 weeks except the occasional pop in to say hello to people Ive talked to 2+ years. However, I dont see why I need to change something Ive been doing for so long because now its a problem and people cant follow the rules, but my momma taught me a long time ago "life is never fair, and for most of us its a good thing its not"

ok, here's what y'all can hear from me...
this whole thing with creep and the mingle thread and the mafia thread and the recent posts function has gotten completely ridiculous. this site was made for people to come together and talk about music and life and have fun and get to know each other. i don't expect everyone to get along, but when no one can be anything but snide, snarky, condescending, and just downright mean, well, that doesn't say much about our character. i say "our" because i do not absolve myself of responsibility for the childish behavior that's currently gone on. i would hope those others involved could say the same thing.
having said that, i hope we can all go to bonnaroo and peacefully assemble into a loving group of music lovers just trying to have fun. i hold no ill-will against anyone, and would hope to get the same in return. i think we need to ALL start respecting each other more, and start thinking before we type. there is never a reason to talk down to people or call them names just because you don't agree. such is life, and god knows that most of us have enough going on in our personal lives that we don't need to come to a place like inforoo and have to deal with drama there too.
so, if possible, could we maybe try getting this board back to where it should be? stop being mean, stop saying things just to get a rise out of people, stop talking down to people. if you don't have anything nice to say...just don't say it.

I totally agree with everything HN has said here.
All I ask is that everyone read it and understand that this applies to all. I have no problem with anything folks do on here until the rules start getting pushed, and that not really the problem.
The problem is how some certain members choose to respond when a Mod warns them of a rule violation (or when the envelope is being pushed)
THAT is where the problem comes in for me. Its almost like some people are offended that they have been warned and they must retaliate.
And I'll say this, all of this is coming from people who have not been here very long, people who really dont know what this website is all about.
Look I am just gonna say it, when you have over 700 posts and over 630 of them are in the mingle thread, are you really here to talk about bonnaroo? serioulsy? (Its seems more like you are here to find a hook up at roo)
This mod bashing and questioning has to end. I think over the years we have been VERY fair on here when it comes to doling out punishment, but everyone who has been here for a while knows that once you have reached "that" point with us, there is no use in arguing. We give people chances, but when those chances are up, they are up.
