Is there a way to make the bbcode for image resizing more accessible in the reply screen? It comes up every once in a while where someone posts a massive image in now playing.

It should be extremely easy in the "Preview" mode when posting. Just drag the top corner down.
Alternatively, what I usually do is:
1.) add my image (in BBCode) 2.) click the "Preview" tab 3.) click back to the BBcode 4.) adjust the "style="max-width:100%;"" number that was added to the code (depending on the size of the original image your % number may be bigger or smaller for desired size)
Let me know how those options work. If I misunderstood then I'll need it explained again. If you're aware of those and wanted more options then let me know what you were thinking and we'll see what we can do.

I tried this method. All it does for me is to highlight the image. I am assuming I could move it around within the post if I had text written in there as well, but I am not seeing how to affect the size in any way.
I knew about the max width thing, but I like defining it by pixels. Posting things 500x500 makes me sad.
Just grab the image from a corner and stretch it or draw it down in preview mode. If it's not a perfect square, you can grab the image from the side to push it in or ahem pull it out. It will even tell you what dimensions you're shrinking/expanding it to.
Edit - you have to click somewhere inside the image first, and then little squares appear at compass points around the image where you can resize from.
