lol Are you happy now? Angry? How is this connected to your feelings?
Yes, I am happy now. I have a good life. I have a roof over my head. I have a great family and a great bf. I have good people on these boards that entertain me while I'm at work. What's not to be happy about?
I think the most important question here is "are YOU happy"?

Man... I'm pissed I missed out on this one fellas. I was about to start having fun with mrs feather-up-bottom in another thread regarding incubus "ruining" bonnaroo. guess I missed my chance. Oh well, atleast I have my karma
Gee, I'd apologize for stirring up the pot, but if it wasn't this pot I'm sure it would have been another... Oh well, real world kama to all, even those who need a virtual soapbox to look down their bifocals on those of us who find it amusing to create good vibes with our virtual karma.......I've done many worse things with a computer keyboard in my "real" job......

And you certainly have not missed your chance, my silly little friend. Much of the pre-discussed blue-in-the-face belly laughter comes from hearing absurdities like defending shit like incubus.

I give karma immediately sometimes when someone makes me laugh, or amazes me in some awesomenom way, but more often, I like to wait until people are gone so they can't see that it might have been me... I don't know, it's kind've a nice little spark of a feeling, to see that number myseriously jump up, and have no idea why ??? I like to think everyone feels that warm little spark when it happens to them too... meaningless maybe? maybe, but still kind've nice, so i choose to see meaning

I think we all feel the spark that you are speaking of
ive been getting into Taoism lately and today i stumbled on some passages about karma and i thought i would share
In this endless and merciless cycle of suffering, the law of cause and effect reigns supreme and without respite over everything; Karma towers over all, blocking out the sun, yet its shadow does not fall on the person walking with Tao.
(The Tao is Tao, 90) ---------- The person in harmony with the Tao has no fear of karma, and lives as a truly free person. Rules and laws have ceased to matter for him, for wisdom and compassion have become his guides, and they have liberated him from creating more negative karma. -------------
Karma is the accumulated force of choice. It is not part of a punishment and reward system for good and bad behavior. The Tao is all things—good and evil, creation and destruction, birth and death, beauty and ugliness. For this reason, it does not favor a particular good or bad. Humans, on the other hand, benefit by having a world that is good, and function better under good than they do evil. It is for this reason that the world is benefited at the level of the general population by religions such as Buddhism.
There are three poles of Karma: A Positive pole, A Neutral Pole, A Negative pole. For simplicity’s sake, we’ll call positive, Good; neutral, Neutral; and negative, Evil.
Karma is accumulated by making choices that fit within a pole. If you want to accumulate positive karma, then you do positive things, and those positive things add up together to form positive karma. You gradually climb up the positive pole, and the higher you climb, the more power that you have.
If you are trying to accumulate positive karma, and make a negative choice, you subtract this negative from your positive karma, and so lose power. If the choice is sufficiently negative, you could end up spending all your Karma or even shifting to the negative pole.
It is equally possible to accumulate negative Karma, and acquire tremendous power. However, when an evil person does something positive, that person loses Karma as well!
Taoism (i.e. methods of human practice) favors the accumulation of Positive or Neutral in Karma. Historically, those adepts that have pursued great evil have been killed to avoid creating a world that would be ultimately detrimental to human survival.
Karma is important, because it gives your choices the ability to be successful. For the most part, when we are powerless to choose, we become unable to manage our selves in the big three human activities. This shortcoming produces unhappiness.
Karma makes enlightenment more likely, but is not a requirement to achieve enlightenment. Karma is also not part of reward system that will ultimately lead to enlightenment.

Help new to the board! Am I dumb? i totally don't get the whole karma thing (on the web anyway) How do you give karma? How often can you give karma? I thought I gave someone karma and now I can't see the smite/exhalt option for anyone else. If someone tells me I'll give you karma
"If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has the power to move you, if the simple things in nature have a message you understand, Rejoice, for your soul is alive."

You can only give Karma once an hour, I believe. And to give Karma you click "exalt". And smiting is taking Karma from some one for an obnoxious remard etc...But some do it because you dont like your opinion. Dont know why. Welcome to ze boards!
