That is it exactly - I don't smite because someone has a different opinion or likes music other then I do - but the downright rude, obnoxious posts that are sometimes posted get smited
The Key to Karma appears to be being female and having your picture up as your avatar.
I confess to padding oleander's karma - but not because of the picture or that she is female -well yeah - because she is female - but we also seem alike in many ways - so whenever I get a chance (and think about it) I throw karma at her.

So, uh, mods... ever think about doing away with the whole karma thing? I'm just noticing that by this thread there seem to be a good amount of people who get bothered with it. I know I do sometimes, like just recently being hit continuously without having any idea why.
So, I propose to put the karma institution to a vote. The mods could create a poll thread where everyone can go and vote if they like the karma thing or not. That's all I'm suggesting: let the masses decide. If pepople decide they like it, it's all good. If they decide they don't, then we could have a 3-month period in which the karma system is taken away. After the trial period we can vote again if people want it back or to keep it buried.
All I'm lobbying for is a simple vote. How does that sound?
i say keep it, if it bothers you, just ignore it ... on some boards they actually have an ignore you can put on a person then you never see their posts .. i thought that was funny ;D cr****
