This thread and it's generous contributors notwithstanding, I just find the karma thing kinda sketchy. What I was suggesting was not to do away with it, but simply to vote, as a democratic collective, on it. Seems like that would be the fair thing to do. It's about letting people's voices be heard. I'm not even necessarily saying this so I can vote to get rid of karma-- it kinda bothers me but I do kinda like it. I'm suggesting a vote because it bothers me that people who are bothered by karma are simply told to ignore it or not take it so seriously. That's not a good solution. I really don't mean to be a stick in the mud, I just want to see things dealt with fairly and with respect to all.
Again - I really wish the mad smiting would go away - it is either a mad smiter or I am pissing people off somehow. Guess someone dislikes the fact that I am a Republican - or that OI agreed with someone about liking Bush -
Who knows? just kinda weird when I don't post anything negative - I did not call anyone names - did not really even voice my opinion about anything - I am being smited for my political views - wow
Yeah, someone out there is a bit mad with the smiting. I've dropped from 6 to 0 (or whatever it is now) in just a couple of weeks, without posting anything negative or agressive at all.
I think it's Braves and Phillies fans smiting me because of my avatar.

I kinda like this place. When you get hit with karma for no apparent reason, people are there to give it back-- balance it out. So here's one from me, chandler!
i forget about karma usually... then the last couple days every time i sign on i notice i'm down one more point... hmmm does someone secretly hate me and is steadily smiting me?.... i'm so curious to know who it is now.... reveal yourself! ;D

i'll give you some karma in an hour, sparklybecca...i didn't know about the 20 most recent posts thing until I read a post by you today. that is awesome and changes my inforooing experience!
