It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

Hmmm..... sorely tempted. Never been to Orleans, so any concert 'downtime' would be well spent. Shorter flight than Vegoose. Good price.. might even buy my limit, then scalp what I don't use (or give a pair to a friend that missed 'Roo ).
And of course, any excuse to dress as a pirate! YARrharhahrahrahrharhahraARRRRRR!!!!!

Everytime I see Toubab Krewe's name, I think of the scene in Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls:
Fulton Greenwall: Bumbawe Atuna... Bumbawe Atuna... Ace: Bumblebee tuna? Bumblebee tuna! Ace Ventura, Pet Detective! How are you this afternoon? Excuse me... Your balls are showing... Bumblebee tuna!

What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

I'm going and if you seriously decide to go let me know, you can crash with me at a friend's house! I live about an hour from the big easy, but am definitely not making the drive back and forth during the fest. I have tons of friends in the city. Let me know!!

Thanks, but we're prolly going to stick with the Marriott. I'd definitely love to hang with you, tho'. I'm also trying to convince Nshvllbound to drive down for the show, so we might have a mini-Camp Inforoo goin' on! Never been to Orleans before, so any tips would definitely be appreciated.

well the offer stands! my friend, who's house i'm staying at, is running a marathon in D.C. that weekend so he won't be around, but jehn ( she was at roo with me) is prolly going to go with me. When it gets closer, PM me or something, if ya'll are coming in on the 25th we should hook up for dinner and i'll show you around the quarter....its an awesome city! I lived there for three years, so i pretty much know my way around!

the more I look at this lineup, the more i really, really really want to figure out a way to go.
I may buy the tickets and just see what I can pull off by October. $100 is a great deal, and I have a feeling I couldn't get Rage or SP tix alone for that price.

Oh, don't worry... if I'm goin', you're stuck with me! Only thing is, make sure the place you pick has something other than fish on the menu (I know, I know... a mortal sin in NOLA, but I just never developed a taste for anything finny past fish sticks as a kid ).
I'll know for certain after this Friday. My biggest fear is that this is one of those 'first 50 tickets' deals, after which it gets jacked up to $200. If I can snag a set of 4, I'll be set. Worse comes to worse and travel companions fall thru, I can always scalp the tickets I can't use.

Voodoo is SOOO much fun guys! Me and my boyfriend went last year and had a really really REALLY good time. And, the lineup is totally freaking kick a$$ this year... plus, Nola is right in my backyard ( a 45 minute drive) so fortunately no hotel rooms for me. Also, my good friend got us back stage passes last year, so i'm hoping for that again this year! Make sure you guys check out New Orleans and everything it has to offer if you're a first time visitor! You WON'T regret it!!

well, there's no "official" ball, but EVERYONE wears costumes. Last year we dressed up as Michaelangelo and Rafael from the Ninja Turtles one day, haha.. it was awesome. But yeah, a ton of people dress up, and i think there are some contests going on in the french quarter on bourbon for the weekend
OK, Vegoose just got punted - Rage? In NOLA? Two of my favorite things???? Hot Damn!!! ;D Already got my revs at the Marriot (great location BTW !) Tix are insanely cheap! love love LOVE any excuse to go to NOLA!! And FINALLY I get to see RATM!!!!!!!
OK, I now have my reason for living post-'Roo!
Excuse my rant.....too much caffeine and stress this week
