Phix to play Langerado at Phamed Big Cypress Indian Reservation in '08--NEW TIME SLOT ANNOUNCED!!!! We are extremely excited to be getting back together to play a special show at Big Cypress for the newly expanded 2008 Langerado Festival. Of course, this is the site of Phish's famed Millenium concert, which makes it extra special for us. And in even more exciting news, our time slot has been changed...we are now playing on Friday, March 7 at 11:55 PM (exactly the time that Phish's famed Milennium set began). We will be playing a THREE-HOUR set lasting until 3AM, which will give us plenty of time to play a TON of songs, stretch out on some jams, and give people their Phish phix until the wee hours of the morning. We are unbelievably psyched and flattered that we have been invited to do this, and we really appreciate the invitation from the Langerado folks. It's quite possibly the coolest thing that's ever happened to Phix!
We'd also like to clear up some apparent confusion--we will NOT be attempting to re-create Phish's Milennium show. It would be ridiculous for us or anyone else to think we'd have a chance of even coming close to pulling off something like that (duh!). But believe us, we understand the implications of Phix playing at Big Cypress at all (especially for those who were there on 12/31/99), and we would like to assure everyone that we are simply there to do what we've always done--celebrate and honor this music that means so much to so many people. Or, to put it another way...to help you party down. We are humbled, flattered...and more than a little bit nervious...but we cannot WAIT for this show, and we look forward to seeing our friends and fans there.

So... what act is everyone most excited for that isn't a big name show?? I'm always down for finding new music at the festie and there's a solid chunk of the line up that I've never heard of before, so if anyone mentions one then I'll definitely check it out before the show. Personally, my most anticipated ones will probably be...
-Matt Pond PA -Dr. Dog (I guess a lot of people know them since they're Rooers) -Of Montreal
I don't know my work schedule, so I'm trying not to get too excited about anyone in particular until I know I'll be able to see them. But Sunday off looks pretty good, so I'm gonna say Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. I caught a little bit from a distance at Roo '06, but have yet to actually see them.
