How did you guys like it?
I had so much fun. The music was great, the crowds were laid back, my weekend flew by.
I heard they didn't sell as many tickets as they had hoped and that's why they made people pay for parking. I'm suprised more people didn't show, the venue and the lineup were sick.
Love, Love, LOVED IT!!! ;D INSANELY AWSOME! Small crowds, got as close as we wanted to everything. Moe was....there are no words.....Did you catch Rabbit in the Moon? That was awesome! EVERYTHING was A+! I thought the stage setup and sound was incredible! Got a little chilly at night but....that was the ONLY -! Just kept dancing ;D We all had a blast!!
Well, I liked a lot of the bands in the lineup, but actually it was some of the bands I discovered that REALLY made the fest for me - Like Rabbit in the Moon, Bassnectar, this funky little band called the Greenskeepers we saw before P-Groove. I was so-so on the Disco Biscuits before, but LOVE them now....had never seen R.A.Q before, they were good. And the Killers were better than I expected. Def not the best set of the weekend, but I had fun. Hell, I had fun at EVERYTHING! ;D
im so glad you guys had fun. RAbbit and bassnectar are both sick! glad you discovered them!!
Me too! They were both definitely highlights of the weekend for me...along with Umps and Moe! And Chef, Aly and I all did a jam for all of our fellow 'Roosters - by name - at the Disco Biscuits on Friday night - who couldn't be with us at Echo - and of course we started with you Becca! ;D

I just got everything un packed. I didnt get to meet up with anyone, i got caught in the maze too fast, but it was a blast (aly we were so close, and then phil came back on and i ran back ). Of course, Phil and Friends was my personal fav. I wished they would have played longer, but you cant get everything. I got shakedown street, which is ALL i could ask for. Biscuites, Bassnectar, Moe.,Spearhead, and Umphrey's all laid it down. Hopefully I'll have some good shots to share

So happy it was so perfect! Thanks to iclips, some of us were unexpectedly even closer to y'all than we could've thought. Cheers to y'all, so glad you were there to represent. If one is there, we all are... and if more are, well... that's all the better;) Can't wait to hear more about it. So far, so AWESOME!!!
Flaming Lips, bisco and bassnectar did it for me.. god that was an awesome night.. rabit in the moon was also a total mindfuck which I loved. If they keep it up they should expect me next fall! woo!
We honestly expected a bit of mess being their first year, but thought it was AWESOME. We had an AMAZING time!
VIP was worth every penny and the festival was WELL worth the money.
Flaming Lips show was great, The Roots KILLED!!, Les Claypool was incredible (as always) even with the sound problems, Rabbit & Moon was a trip for sure, Thievery Corporation totally blew us away, Gza was in great form, Scissor for Lefty put on a great show, Marchforth Marching Band gave us a great time, all around a freakin killer time!! We absolutely LOVED it! Even when freezing! Merchants were cool (but not making much money from the ones we chatted with) and the food was good (VIP food was pretty solid imo, and Pizza on Wheels mmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!)
We are sore and coughing and tired but sooooo happy!!!
We will DEFINITELY be back next year if the lineup is even just ok.
Ok, so enough superlatives. Pics time!! Just a few quickly selected shots up on Flickr: tinyurl.com/32fukb

^^^ Chick has the pics. I don't have any because my camera didn't make it there... long story short... I am a dumbass...
Anyway... Fabulous festie! I loved it. I love Chick, I love Woozie, I love Chili & Bubbles, I already loved The Chaz, I loved meeting everybody.
The bands all brought their A-game and knew exactly what the deal was. The sound was stellar. The crowd was GRATE!!!
Bisco and moe. were both amazing Rabbit in the Moon was a fantastic spectacle Bassnectar brought it (and has fabulous hair, BTW) Umph was a smokin' set Greenskeepers were new to me and I like them, funky and slightly silly, I like that The Duo was great Phil's set was not the best ever but there were definately highlights (Shakedown) Franti's set was way better than the Roo set Les was rockin the bionic pinky Polyphonic Spree was a blast GZA literally made my innerds rumble when he started because the sound was so loud
little story about The Killers... We had injested some corn and other mind altering stuff and went in for a good spot. They came on and it was LOUD AS F*CK!!! I was in a rather delicate state of mind and the sound started to get to me. The vibrations made me feel "off" I had to get away. So I went and took a break. Smoked a cigarette, closed my eyes and became at one with the sound again Went back just as Mr Brightside broke out. I screamed my ass off and then went looking for The Chaz, Chick, & Bamabelle. They were gone! I looked and looked (distracted only momentarily by the ROCKING of The Killers) couldn't find them there at all. I heard moe. starting and knew Chick would be there so I moved there to see if they were on the left of the soundboard (that'd been a good place to meet). When I got there, in my sensitive status, I realized the crowd was to big. My heart sank. I was convinced I was alone for the rest of the night. It was sad. Then.... who do I find?.... WOOZIE!!! Oh happy day! He gave me cigarettes and blinkies and everything was OK again ;D We texted The Chaz and Chick, they found us and we all stayed together and had our minds blown by moe.

Great story Ali, I have many similar ones from my (quite chaotic at times) rock and roll past. I LOVE how when things might (seem to) go wrong, all of a sudden a bigger picture forms and then those same things suddenly take an almost magically mystical turn... and then proceed to work out exactly the way they are supposed to (and were destined to) work out
Rock and Roll, there's no rush like it, always help keep it alive forever

if someone would have told me rabbit was going to be there i would have left meg and the girls and rolled on in there. glad everyone had a good time.oops i ment great time
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

i've decided somebody needs to create a time machine and let me borrow it so I can go back to 2 months ago and buy an early bird ticket for Echo and then proceed to take part in all of this fun. I'm smiling just reading about it... next year. definitely next year...
Well its good to know you all had a great time at Echo , but I think I might have to make the trip next year if I have the money. I mean its not too far from home.
I'd say they need to change a few things but overall I loved the fest...
1) My main complaint was that the portos were so damn far from the stages in most cases..
2) All beer vendors should sell water!
3) Could someone whisper to Franti that when you yell "Everybody jump!!!" a cloud of dust erupts that could choke an elephant? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the jumping, but ya don't need to do it 3 times per song...
4) Free water stations in the venue should be in not-out-of-the-way spots.
So glad you all had a good time. Wish I could have been there!
How was the weather?
during the day it was beautiful. Sunny but not too hot (unless you were dancing, which I was) The nights were cold as HELL. Dropped into the 40s at night. At one time I had 14 clothes on. But you didn't feel it until after you stopped groovin'

yeah, i was actually hot at phil, but i had thousands of other ppl blocking the cold wind, we made it to the very front for that show! I think one of the best moments in my life is when they came back on stage and just killed shakedown!! Never forget it! Sorry Aly, as soon as we were walking right in your direction they came back on with that! LOL, my mind told me, go back to phil!!! i cant wait to get the pix developed!!!!!!
Days were positively beautiful. From about 8am to 8pm I could not have dreamed of better weather for a music festival. Dry and dusty, yes, but soooo nice!
Nights got prety cold but a good jacket when out and about made it cozy enough and when we laid ourselves down we just slept in our clothes & sweaters inside our sleeping bags and were toasty and snored away!
I've added scans of the two maps of the festival grounds that were in the official program book to my flickr page: tinyurl.com/32fukb
They didn't even come close to using all the camping space, but they did have a lot of people driving in from Atlanta for just the day or just the evening.
