So I'm thinking more and more I might end up going with Sasquatch over Bonnaroo this year, main reason being its proximity to relatives I've been meaning to visit for about four years. Hell, maybe I'll end up doing both. But anybody know the 411 on Inforoo type info on Sasquatch? Does such a forum exist?

I've been looking but haven't found much. I'd also be interested.
I was at the 2006 and 2007 Sasquatch festivals and am heading back in '08 for sure. I unfortunately haven't been to any other big festivals however to compare it to. But we absolutely love it every year!! The venue is awesome, hang out on the grassy hillside and enjoy some overpriced beer and some great bands. I really love the diversity in the bands that are there every year.
The only band I have heard off for this year is the Cure, and it was only because of searching for info on next years fest online that I stumbled across this forum. I have no idea who to expect in '08. Radiohead would be a dream come true, R.E.M. has a new album coming out I believe, as does Jack Johnson. It would be great to see the Hip there again. Anyone else have an idea of who we could expect?
As for the rest of the lineup, I don't know anything definite, but I would expect to see a mix of local talent, bigger indie bands that have new albums out and a few surprises. Based on that assumption I would guess that some of these bands might be at Sasquatch! 2008.
The Gutter Twins Common Market New Pornographers Band of Horses Chris Walla Radiohead Feist Klaxons The Black Kids The Black Lips Portishead LCD Soundsystem Jens Leckman Beirut Nada Surf
Those are just wild guesses.
Wild guesses, yes...but something to think about. The Coachella boards seem convinced that Radiohead will headline on Saturday. If we could only be so lucky!
When I typed in "Sasquatch Music Festival" in a google search, the third result was titled "Line up: 2008 Sasquatch! Music Festival" but gave the 2006 lineup. Methinks there might be an announcement in the offing...
It would have been crazy to be there when Ghostland Observatory blew out the power of the entire festival at Sasquatch.
Thomas talked briefly about it in our interview:
Moe: You guys definitely have a real big sound for just two guys. I thought you guys were gonna blow out the PA system, did you hear it popping at one point?
Thomas: That’s good! I like that! (Laughs)
Aaron: Yeah, that’s good! (Laughs)
Moe: Yeah! I heard it, I was like, ‘Oh shit, there goes the set.’ ‘Cause you guys did blow out a set, where was it?
Thomas: Sasquatch.
Thomas: We blew out the entire power in the whole freaking festival.
Moe: No sh!t.
Thomas: Yeah… It wasn’t too fun though when it happened. We were like, ‘Oh, that’s not good.’ You can’t even talk in the microphone, nothing.
Moe: Did they get it back and going?
Thomas: Yeah, but it took a while. It was just like, at first, it’s cool, like ‘Oh, yeah they blew out the power’, but then you can’t crank it back up you know, you gotta wait. Then they get the power running again and you’ve got to start over and try to get back to where you were. But the crowd seemed to respond really well to it, so it ended up working out.
I looked it up, and it seems the initial Sasquatch lineup is usually announced right around the time Bonnaroo tix go onsale, third week of February. It gives me a day or two to decide between the two festivals.

i saw dave twice and tom petty and the black crowes at the gorge... imo, it's THE place to see live music... the sun sets behind the stage over the gorge... there are no words...

The Coachella boards have "insiders" who are saying Radiohead is out. Strong hints of Deathcab for Cutie (which being a PNW band is no surprise). Also a lot of peeps are thinking REM is going to take the Saturday headlining slot.
Yeah, I saw that. It's good. I'm not sure it's good enough to make it more attractive than Bonnaroo. But we'll see. If the Bonnaroo lineup absolutely blows (which it won't), R.E.M. & The Cure would be a helluva consolation prize...

If I had to guess I'd bet that Steven Malkmus and the Jicks will be at Sasquatch. He lives in Portland, right? They always load up on NW talent...(think they have an entire stage dedicated). New cd out. Coachella appearance.

Of course it won't! Didn't you hear? The Eagles and GWAR are going to be there!
