hehe...yeah...I have to say, this year's "lineup leak" is the best one yet...
But back to Sasquatch, the groups I'm getting from various blogs and forums: The Cure, R.E.M., Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, Gang of Four, The Heavenly States, Fleeted Foxes, 65daysofstatic
Then there are some random iffy rumors of Rush, Tegan & Sara, Minus the Bear, I'm From Barcelona Cat Power, Matt Costa and Jack Johnson. The inclusion of Rush made me scratch my head. If Rush and The Cure were headlining the same year, it would be a MASSIVE departure for a festival that's stayed pretty contemporary with their headliners thus far...
Well, since Rush is scheduled for the Gorge on the weekend after Sasquatch, and are in Canada on Memorial Day weekend, I doubt they'd also be playing Sasquatch.
Well R.E.M. is touring along with Modest Mouse and The National. They play in Vancouver on May 23rd: the day before Sasquatch, and then they have 5 days off before they play their next show at the Hollywood Bowl. I would LOVE to hear that they are playing this years Festival. I want to see all those bands.
Thanks for starting the Sasquatch blog Dustin. I have been looking for a forum like that. My only suggestion is...I have trouble reading the black text on brown background. Maybe that's just me...
Thanks for the input saxnuke. There is a lighter shade of brown on there now, which makes it easier to read. Check it out and let me know what you think.
It is usually announced later in February. Like last year was the 20th, maybe this year it will be the 19th, the day after presidents day. I guess we'll see!
$55 the first weekend and I think $65 after that. It may have gone up to $75 at some point, but don't quote me on that, for sure the first two prices. Hopefully it will be like $60 or less a day to start and $165 for the full three days and not jacked up like some of the other festivals.....
Here is some of the names announced on The End : R.E.M. Modest Mouse The Cure Death Cab for Cutie The Flaming Lips Michael Franti and Spearhead MIA Built to Spill The Presidents of the United States of America Tegan and Sara The Kooks Flight of the Conchords The Blakes The Hives The Cops Cold War Kids
New Pornographers, The National, Beirut, Dedue Fever, Fleet Foxes, The Breeders, Okkervil River, The Little Ones, The Grand Archives, David Bazan, Joshua Morrison, Throw the Statue, Kinski, The Cave Singers, Battles, Jamie Liddell, Ghostland Observatory, Mars Volta (pending), Matt Costa, Awesome, J. Tillman, The Heavenly States, 65 Days of Static, White Heaven?, Mates of State, Blue Scholars, Say Hi, Dyme Def, Siberian, The Shaky Hands?
This is from calling the end. I may have missed a few, but this is pretty close. I will have it on the blog soon, can't do it from work.......
The sites up sasquatchfestival.com/2008/ and there are more bands and it is cheap, comparatively...... The info is also at sasquatchmusicfestival.blogspot.com
I think Coachella/APW should take some pointers from Sasquatch as far pricing tickets. I persoanlly think that the the lineup is little better than APW for the exception of Radiohead of course.
