^^^^soooo have you made a decision???
Yeah... we're going with Rothbury... I just couldn't get into the 'Roo lineup this year. I really, really tried, but it's just not my cuppa tea.
So here's looking forward to hanging out with everyone next year!
[edit] It was really the addition of Rod y Gab and The Wailers to Rothbury, combined with the lackluster (IMHO) 'Roo announcements this morning, that did it for me.

well that sucks - was looking forward to meeting Melissa - not sure about next year - that may be the year for us to sit out (this year was gonna be but then inforoo got involved)
Rothbury sure looks like it has a great line-up, however having seen just about all of those bands before, I am waiting to hear how it all works out this year before deciding whether or not I want to make the extended trip up there in future years. Being the first year for the festival and having seen the layout from satellite pics I foresee some major logistical issues that need to be worked out with Rothbury.
'Roo is so much more to me than just the bands. The vibe and all the other things to see and do will keep drawing me year after year until I have a bad time. Being only three hours away from Bonnaroo helps a lot but I have gone a lot farther for many other events so if I like the event I will be there no matter where it is.
i was at the first bonnaroo and i had the same worrys. but i went and they did a great job.no major problems. so i am not worried about rothbury the have alot of money, there a big business this is well thought out..(i hope ;)and for me personaly bonnaroos lineup didnt cut it for ME.its really hard to skip the roo after not missing one and wonder what im missing.but i welcome new changes and welcome rothbury.i hope everyone has a good roo.i will miss it this year.

side note sorry for just going on.to much jager
I would be very surprised it the organizers don't leverage their experience with Coachella to make this as smooth as possible. I think there are only 2 big obstacles they need to worry about: holiday traffic, and trying to stay green. With only 2 roads into the fest, and another local festival supposedly scheduled 1/2 hour away, I expect long waits in traffic both in and out of the event. As for staying environmentally friendly, that's all well and good if you have deep pockets or plenty of experience setting up green events. Having neither (a lot of money went to book the headliners, and this is one of the first large-scale green fests in America) can only lead to trouble...
I'm going to Roth from Louisiana if someone wants to meet up and go together that would be awesome. I'd split gas and I have a ton of camping gear so, if anyone is interested PM me.
Music is the soul of ROTHBURY, which today announces a handful of new artists added to the lineup. Sam Beam of Iron & Wine, Atmosphere, Steel Pulse, The Wailers featuring Elan, Ingrid Michaelson, Perpetual Groove, Kyle Hollingsworth Band, Boombox, Brother Ali, Greensky Bluegrass, Trampled By Turtles, and Four Finger Five
GOD DAMNIT!!!!!!! i was all fine with skipping rothbury and going to the ledges. but now hollingsworth is there and an incident is looking almost inevitable. DAMNIT!!!!! i cant miss a chance of string cheese. and boombox dont hurt either! i hate decisions!
psssst. . . . . . believe or not, Rothbury might actually happen for me this year!! my friends were talking about it last night, and i can make it happen!!! 3 fests in one month would be my dream
i'm lucky enough to be hittin up both rothbury & bonnaroo this summer. ;D
me and my buddy are flyin into grand rapids on july 2nd to meet some friends, so if anyone's gonna be around and knows a bit about what to do in that city, let me know if you're interested in meeting up. we could caravan to the fest the next day
