i was thinking the same about noblesville cause of the date. but it's a 2 hour drive. now i'm even MORE happy that i bought cincy tix. i believe in fate and things like this are why. i still can't get over this lineup!

mmm yes
My list of bands that I WILL NOT MISS (imagine the hellish conflicts that could be) 1. Primus 2. Gov't Mule 3. STS9 4. YONDER MOUNTAIN STRING BAND FEATURING JON FISHMAN 5. Phil Lesh & Friends 6. Mike Gordon 7. Everything else
no way could i swing it with class to pay for and rent and all that jazz....wish i could tho...id give anything to go to both...i mean its primus come on
well it says over 70 bands. and 8 stages. that makes for some long set times. possibly multiple shows like bisco at echo.
its looking like a lot of people are reonsidering their roo plans. this really could do to roo what echo did to vegoose. i think its gonna have a big impact on roos ticket sales for this region.
I don't know yet...I'm thinking I might wait to see what additions are made...mapquest shows rothbury as about 8 and a half hours away, and manchester is about 9 or 10 depending on traffic...so im torn..damnit the lineup is so good
i just saw they are offering early birds at 200 dollars a pop..damn this might be too good to pass up...i'm gonna have to talk with my bro about it, we do all these things together
I REALLLY love the rothbury lineup, but ive fallen in love with the roo lineup as well... and I have a bunch of friends who i convinced to go to roo this summer..
I COULD go to both. It's POSSIBLE. The only thing that would be a factor is money, but I could swing it. I'm just usually very frugal and it makes sense for me to pick one or the other... but I seriously don't know what to do. I'm completely torn.
Do I go to: Bonnaroo??? Rothbury??? Bonnaroo and Rothbury?????
rothbury is about 2 hours closer than roo, but when were looking at 13 hours vs 15 hours, there really isn't that much difference...
and highest teir ticket prices are about the same, so money isnt really a factor (unless i go ahead and get the early birds, but i stil wanted to see what all good puts out)
so yeah, i dont know what to do. I don't know if i should buy my roo tickets this weekend or what.
^^^^ Go to both if you can afford it, but I'm going to rothbury. Ive been to roo 4 times and I love the farm to death, but this line up there no contest for me. Who give a poo from my butt about conflicts, i couldn't imagine anything better than being completely surrounded by some of the best bands in the scene. plus bonnaroo was something new at one point. I like everything about this fest and I know I will enjoy every second of music. and Honestly I think roo in gonna bunk out on these late nights. Sigur is cool but not what i want out of a late night act. Kanye is not what I want out of late night and is a huge waste of a which stage spot on late night. I don't think mmj or umph will get one for some reason, call it a hunch. The best I could hope for is robert randolph and the super jam. Levon helm would be ok late night but i need some jamtronica. Its no contest when you compare late night potential for both fests
I dunno, the more I think about this.... Ok. Rothbury is a startup festie, yet they're basically pricing as if they've been around and know exactly what they're doing.. A 1st year fest WILL have logistical problems, especially one of this size..
Why are they pricing this as if they've done it before?
^^^ I was thinking that at first too Wooz, but it's got to be because of the names they're bringing in. There is some big shit that has got to be expensive to get. I think the preice is worth it for the bands I get to see-even if there are some logistical issues
i count 34 bands that i would wanna catch at rothbury. i count 10 at roo. and none of them have headliner slots and maybe 1 of them will be a latenight. and its still cheaper then roo. and 5 of the roo bands that i would wanna see are at rothbury. and yonder has fishman at rothbury but not roo. different strokes for different folks. rothbury by far and away seems like a deal compared to newroo. and the fact that all of string cheese and keller are there id pay 500 dollars just for the chance of an incident!

I didn't do the math, but my reasoning is pretty much the same as yours. Although at Roo I can turn all my words into Roo words by adding a prefix or suffix. Haven't figured out how to do that with Rothbury.
Let's Roth-hang out at the Rothbury and get drunk-bury together.---See it just doesn't work. But we really should hang
not to mention that roo has had how many years to get it right? and the porta potties are still worst then any other fests. those water trucks sure dont help that deadly dust. i stood in line 1/3 of my time at roo so they could strip search people for glowsticks.(ok a slight exaggeration, but it was bad) i sat at a stage with dozens of other people waiting for moonshine still in 06 and it turns out the schedule was wrong and they played elsewhere. cost me half a moonshine show. there are gonna be issues at all fests but roo has by far and away the most hassles of anyplace ive been. it was the first year for echo and it went of without a hitch. just my thoughts
