I will not attend a Bonnaroo with Green Day on the lineup. Yes, I listened to Dookie, but that was in '94/95, and it is two thousand and seven....i'm over it. Do I have respect for them? Yes. At our farm in Tennessee? NO. Thank you and good day.

Despite the fact that all their songs sound pretty much the same, the live clips I've seen are pretty good. Certainly not Roo material though, so nope.

Absolutely, without a doubt, NO. "American Idiot" is the worst album of this decade so far. As others have said, there are a lot more punk bands that are better and more deserving.

Hmmm... I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. I found the album mildly entertaining, and I was impressed at their focus and imagination (of course that's considering what I expected them to be capable of). Also, to call it the worst album of the decade is to put it below K-Fed, Brooke Hogan, and much, much more. I gotta disagree.

I say no way......I too listened to them up until Nimrod but i've matured in my tastes since then.... there's WAY better punk out there than Green Day.

I won't say they are untalented, but.........please everyone, they are NOT PUNK!!! and as far as them at Roo... if they promise to start a mud fight, sure, but otherwise... NO FREAKIN WAY!!!!!
Soo much hatred for American Idiot? I love it. Whenever I drive by the local Republican party HQ and they happen to be having a gathering outside, I make sure I blast American Idiot or Holiday and drive by R E A L S L O W

I always thought that with their earlier stuff, they were going for more of a punk rock style. Anyway, whether they are punk, pop punk, rock, alternative rock, etc., my answer would still be no. Just never been a fan.
Wow! I knew Green Day would have strong Yeas and Nays but I am still surprised at some of the vehemence against them. But, hey, I love fiery conversations.
BTW, as a punk fan, they are definitely not true punk but they are what passes for "commercial punk" which I also kind of like, at least in moderation. And I LOVE American Idiot. I think it is conceptually strong and kicks musically.

If Green Day was at Bonnaroo, I would probably either be watching another band perform or in the brew tent getting my drink on. That being said, I think that there's actually a mildly good chance of them being there in the next 2 years... Also, I should point out that I'd be much happier seeing Green Day on a lineup than Dierks Bentley

You all undestand that we're talking about musicians. You can like them or not like them. It's that way with all artists. If you like them, it doesn't make you cool or a better person. And same if you don't like them. And if you like/dislike them and someone else dislikes/likes them, don't feel threatened. It's supposed to be fun and you can listen to and support whomever you like. To some of you, this will be obvious. To the rest, it's probably crazy talk. Now I'm going back to my Celine Dion at Red Rocks DVD and fock y'all.
