Didn't get to the famous Cornell show that Aly posted (had ride, too broke) but did see them two nights earlier at New Haven, CT and in Springfield, MA before that. Great tour, high energy shows!

Wow jambandjohn i was looking at ozone and... you have seen quite a few shows, freaking watkins glen .. how i envy you. respect.
I'm gonna try and figure this sendspace thing out and upload a few songs for you guys. I got some good Bob Marley. One from studio san siro another from italy and another from africa that i think some of you may enjoy. wasnt there a thread about sharing music via sendspace a while back?

Forgot to add another good source of music, plus a little Dead history, go to the band's home page ( www.dead.net/ ) and look under features for GD Radio Hour and Tapers Section. Lots of cool trivia and the stories behind the songs kind of thing...

man how could have i missed this thread,
I have lots of the shows from archive. plus some that ive traded/uploaded from tapes etc.
I'll upload one sometime soon.
The key is to listen to a complete show from start to finish. (like wooz said). There will be times when you want to skip a song , or get antsy and change the artist. BUT DONT! listening to the whole show is key!

02-18-71 Capitol Theater, Port Chester, N.Y. (Thu)
1: Bertha, Truckin, Hurts Me Too, Loser, Greatest> Johnny B. Goode, Mama Tried, Hard To Handle, Dark Star> Wharf Rat> Dark Star> Me & My Uncle
2: Casey Jones, Playin, Bobby McGee, Candyman, Big Boss Man, Sugar Magnolia, St. Stephen> NFA> GDTRFB> NFA> Uncle John
First "Bertha" - first "Greatest" - first "Loser" - first "Playin" - first "Wharf Rat" - Mickey's last show until 10-20-74 - E.S.P. show
Probably more valuable in that "first" value than a show itself, but the beautiful return to Dark Star after the first Wharf Rat is one of the more gorgeous few minutes of music ever set to tape.

Under the grateful dead section of archive.org there is a listing of shows from this date in history, i usually try to listen to the current date's shows, it lets me hear a lot of shows I would never normally check out, and it is fun to track the sets day by day.

As I listen to some Dire Wolf from Alyroo, let me take this moment to give a BIG HI 5 to my friend Andrea from Iowa who first introduced me to the Grateful Dead in 1988.

id say, as others already have, any dicks picks and any of the soundboards off of archives is a good way to go. i would also suggest another date with lucy at all good for phil. his langerado show was incredible.
and if any part of you likes blue grass check out garcia and grisman band or old and in the way. i find my self listening to that even more then the dead lately. especially garcia/grisman 12/8/91.
also go to a dark star orchestra show!!! they are incredible. and while i often find phil and bobby kinda boring (phil @ langerado excluded) dso never disappoints

Since everyone was thanking their parents... Here's an ancient (77-78 ?) shot of me and my mom standing out by my 66 Beetle. Nice shirt, eh?
I thank both my 'rents for my love of music. My dad has a huge album collection of big band and swing. My mom saw Elvis in the same venue where I later saw the Dead. I've been to live shows with both of my kids. Just keeping playing it forward....
I think your jeans are back in style again JBJ, I could see someone paying waaay too much money for those at a boutique today. Personally, I'd take the dead shirt.
