I'm leaving from Durham wednesday evening...driving to Walmart in Tennessee. I've got two extra tickets for sale...$225 each.
I've got a small truck and enough room for one more...two more if someone wants to ride in the half cab. I'm a light packer so there'll be plenty of room in the bed...split the gas and you gotta free ride!
Gonna try my damned-ess to drive home in time for work on Monday...might not make it though...probably crash for a couple of hours in a parking lot if I get sleepy.
I'm leaving Kernersville late on Wednesday. We'd thought about leaving Thursday morning but would rather put the tent up when the gates open instead of in the heat of the day. We're going to try to do Tent Only so hopefully we don't have too far to walk!
I'm leaving Wednesday night and getting to Manchester at dawn (ish)
We always go down to Atlanta but we drive at night and don't have to worry about rush hour traffic. I like going that way because I'm not a fan of driving through the mountains.

Headed from Charlotte to Manchester Wed. afternoon. ATLANTA is def. the way to go. you actually never really get into Atlanta, hitting the bypass north of the city. Driving through Asheville, IE up the mountain and back down with any sort of RV or camper is not the way to go. Now...if you're driving a normal car....it might be a toss-up....but keep in mind if you try to go through Asheville in the early morning...there's a good chance you're going to run into fog on both sides of the mountain slowing down traffic. Hope this helps.....

We're heading from Winston-Salem to just past Asheville on Wed afternoon and getting an early start Thur am from there. I40 though the mountains is no big deal, just dial down the speed when you cross over into TN, the Mounties know we're coming...

I'd be down, except that I will be in Knoxville for the Phish show wed. night... What were your plans? You should come on by for the Knoxville show and throw down an additional night. Other than that I would be coming and going from Asheville.

headin out from durham, gotta meet the other half of our group thats headin from around columbus, georgia. just put up a thread with this question, but maybe someone in this thread might have a good suggestion too. we have to figure out where to meet up.
also, saw that hellbilly96 said he was headin out from durham too. that post was a while back, but if you look back at this thread, durham what up! hah
does that route avoid the mountains and stuff as was discussed further up the thread? also, how long does that route take you, general idea if you have one

yeah that's the one that avoids the mountains and goes towards the ATL. i've only taken that way home in the past, and i think it was around 5.5-6 hours? the haze that is monday after roo is clouding my actual time perception. i've done 26 to 40 before to meet friends from all over the east in cookeville the night before...but that just seems out of the way if you're going straight there.
if you're going RV...i would 100% go 85-75-24...26 and 40 would be a bitch getting out of NC
looks like I'm probably going solo from greenville. If anyone wants to join. Well maybe not solo. But me and another previously-planning-on-going-solo guy have room.
This year we're tryin' ta leave Wednesday around 12-3pm I think. We're tired of the night drive and we'll be hangin' at the Wal Mart ta rest up before the festivities really begin.
