Did you see any major busts this year?
i Saw two on Saturday pm. One was some chick selling vodka drinks out of her cooler. These were event security on horseback. They seemed cool and made her move on. THen I saw this really natty white dude with long dreads get dragged out of the camping area by about 10 sherriffs. They even took a portion of the fence down. I had just walked away from my clay-like corn-concentrate purchase and poof. The heart was racing a bit.
Then kind of like a scene from the movie Goodfellas, I could've sworn that annoying chopper was circling over my tent site in Guest camping. I thought it followed me all the way back.
I found that you could get almost anything except corn at this show. I had lots of offers for other junk, but not any maize!

i saw a safety guy chasing someone through my friends camp area. they caught him and then when to look for something he dropped and they found a bag of something i dont know what. that is no major bust though. later when walking toward pod 9 i saw the same two guys talking to the sherriffs saying "hell it was fun and gave me something to do" lol
my major bust was when they caught me trying to sneak in beef jerky and confiscated it lol. they are like "you cant take this in" i was like kinda laughing at that but wish i could have eaten it! the next day a guy pulled a bag with something else in it wink wink and he just put it right back in there hehe. bizarre security
well we didnt get busted for anything but- we were walking back to our campsite and my boyfriend was putting our blanket into his bag when a cop on a horse came up behind him and was like give me your bag. the cop thought the blanket was t-shirts that we were trying to sell. After the cop realized it was nothing he felt really bad for being a jerk at first and kept apologizing..
They wanted to take my beef Jerkey too...what the hell was up with that. I proceeded to yell out that a cow gave its life for this and he wants to trash it, and handed it out to everyone that would take it in line.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

really they wouldnt let you take it in? I brought beef jerky in everyday in my bag, and i know they saw it.
I was one of them (well, not major, but a campsite Sheriff search of my campsite).
Yeah.
Police.
At my campsite.
Searching it.
Not cool, Roo.
Not cool.
WHOA! What happened? Was it random or were you being too out in the open? How deep did they search?
The one bust I saw this year involved a guy steeling a golf cart, almost plowing into the group of people I was walking with, then being chased down and apprehended by the mounties.
I saw a couple busts. One was a couple black guys, slammed against the fence by a couple undercover cops, surrounded by horses and hauled off in cuffs. The second was a single white dude-same thing.
Only busts I've seen in 7 Roos. Maybe access is a little more closely watched.

Didn't see any police action for no no word or anything, but I did see a fight AND I saw 2 different men strip down to nothing while freakin out of some doses. 1 was before the second song of the first show. It's Bonnaroo.

I'm not sure if it was a bust but I saw one guy face down on the ground in the mud freaking out...some guy was on top of him with his knee in his back and his arm chicken winged up. Dude on top kept yelling.."CALM DOWN OR I'LL BREAK YOUR ARM!!!"
Pretty crazy.
I also had this hilarious dude come over swearing that this undercover just verbally assaulted him for not selling him two chocolates. He was all amped up and nervous but then he asked if he could wave our flag around (I had just taken it off the EZ UP) that seemed to calm him down....waving an American/Peace sign flag around willl calm anyones nerves.

I think this is the one that happened right next to our campsite

Right next to Camp Inforoo? Yeah, I think that's where it happened. Oh, sorry for not stopping by, I was too shy/spun....

Oh no - same thing happened in Access - they chased down two black guys and a white guy - there were 4 mounties there and two golf carts with security that caught these guys - I overhead them talking about them stealing a goldcart and turning ot over

I met a group of three people on Thursday night that met this same description. The had on fake armbands. I don't want to elaborate very much, PM me if you want, but the white guy took something that belonged to me, threatened to kill me, I told him where he could stick it, he ran with my belonging, and my friend caught him and twisted it out of him. It quickly became camp folklure. I hope it was that same group of people you sawgetting busted.
I also heard several first hand accounts of black guys getting harrassed by the undercovers in the campground for nothing. One even got a knife pulled on him by security. It was filmed. The security guy ended up getting dragged off by other security and stripped of his credentials. Not cool.
yeah security/cops seemed to be in much fuller force this year.
on saturday, we saw two busts within 5 minutes of eachother..
One was undercover cops. they just jumped out of no where got this guy.
then a few feet down the road, a suv full of uniformed cops jumped out, slammed another guy into their car, threw another guy on the ground and had a bunch of people put their hands up.
on sunday, my friend got in trouble too. security came out of no where and searched his bag while we were watching a show and took everything even though there were people eating corn all around us. after that people kept coming over to us apologizing and saying how they couldnt believe that just happened.
On Thursday night, I saw a police officer on a ATV that looked exactly like a family member. I remember looking at the guy and saying, "Wow, he looks just like my ______." On Saturday morning, I saw the same guy dressed up like a "hippie" walking up to the campsites asking if he could buy a little somethingsomething. I told everyone around me that I was pretty sure the guy was an undercover police officer. Hope no one got busted.

My friends and I got searched by 2 sherrifs when trying to enter weds night. I have never had my car searched so throughly ever. Luckily all they confiscated was two bottles of liquor because apparantley you can't transport liquor over state lines. We got away withouth any citations and still had all of our party favors for the weekend. Still a scary freakin experience.

What about the watchtower. That was the first year they had one. You know they had to have cameras watching different areas of the festival. Getting crazier every year police wise. Pretty soon we'll be looking at the Bonnaroo Police State. And to all the narcs reading this post right now, "F*CK YOU PIG!! You didn't catch me or many others, and I had a blast!" ;D

So, had you been eating a bit recently before they searched you, too? Or had it been a long time since you did anything corn-related? I mean, did they have any probably cause?
I'm trying to figure out if the police have a blanket court order to search people or have to have probable cause.

I had no problems with anything since my backpack has a a secret pocket. I did have a bubble wand taken away at the centeroo gates though. Also i got caught drinking my beer inside centeroo and the guy told me to finish it while he searched my bag. I told him i had one more and he took that one and gave me 10 seconds to down my beer. I downed it. i didnt see any other busts though, but campsites were having shit missing left and right.

Yikes. I can't imagine if someone wanted to search my site for no reason - that really sucks!
And can't transport liquor over state lines?? What the quack? I ain't never heard such a thing before.
The kid who did my car went straight for my small bag which happened to contain some Rx meds in my bff's name, but they were just lame antidepressants I keep on hand in case of emergency. He was like, if you don't have an ID for these, you can't go in with them, and I was like, fine, toss 'em then, I do not care, just let me the quack in here.
I saw no busts, except for a ZILLION cars pulled over on the hwys there & back. :/
Some dudes with a tank set up shop next door to me Sat night/morning, so I fell asleep to the sound of whooshh, whooshhhhh, only to (finally be awakened by "I AINT SAYIN SHE'S A GOLDIGGER..."
And during Panic, there were so many people rushing another tank in the crowd, I swore some of them had to be undercovers, but, alas, they evidently were not!
