You should know that negative karma just makes me feel better about myself. Thank you. Keep it coming.
Oh, a couple of weeks ago some guy temporarily had - 1,000,000 and something....that made me envious.
Surely to goodness none of you really worry about those silly numbers? If there was some sort of tangible value associated with them...I could see it. Maybe a prize or a goal.
I'm no mathematician but it seems like 119/-30 is still not too bad compared to some other ratios i see out there. Hit me with some more.
Anyway thanks. dropping me 40+ points in a few hours makes me feel like I am doing something right.

I didn't start it. Thats whats so weird. Did you read the end of his post about his feelings of elation for Pearl Jam? I thought I was the biggest Pearl Jam fan in the world. I was only concurring. You guys sure get your panties in a wad over nothing......geez, it's the f***ing imternet.

Candyflippedaround:
There is just no telling with some of those security guys. Some are like total Barney Fifes and some just don't want to be bothered. I read alot of different accounts and opinions by people on the board, and I get the general impression that they (security) weren't so zealous about messing with the little man, but were super, super zealous about catching the dealers. it also sounds like those that had poor treatments...just had the bad luck of encountering security guys that were taking their job real seriously.
I would like to see them leave all the corn lovers alone but I don't feel real sorry when they catch people with, in my opinion, dangerous chemicals, or beef jerky (ha!)
I do like to see them rein in the occasional violent person or thief too. Thieves and thugs should not be an allowable part of the scene.
You should have seen the corn selling at the first Bonnaroo, it was wide f***ing open.
Thursday after the sword I saw the police busting a guy. They had this HUGE bag of corn on there atv. I felt bad for the guy, especially because of the verbal abuse he was getting. They later came up to me and asked me about my walking stick(vertigo). Turn's out the bag was there from a previous bust. The funny thing was my friend forest the entire time i was talking to them there had managed to army crawl his was behind the atv and was able to grab two handful's of the precious corn with out the Po's noticing. Hell I didn't even notice that he did that or had even left my side.

The only busts we saw this year occured in the Wally world parking lot on wed pm we pulled in at noon one clock pm got to watch the tree just fill up to max cappacity . There were three or four right there one right in front of me . Sitting accross from the tree in that little triangle of grass a dude and his wife set up shop with T shirts he set out his entire stash hopeing to sell quickly . 300 some odd shirts and 45 minutes into first sale locals grab entire lot no tickets issued though , next one right at the tree a tall chick packing one up got busted with three pipes and a bowels worth of pot she got a ticket .

I'm going to keep posting this until 'Roo...
If you are on the festival ground and see someone getting busted, try to videotape it with your phone, camera, or camcorder. Stay out of the way and be silent, but keep taping. They authorities may ask you to turn it off, but you don't have to. They may threaten you, but it will be an empty threat. If you get a recording, try to find that person of their friends and exchange contact info. They way want a copy of that video in the future and it may get their charges dropped. If I were busted, I would want somebody taping it.

If you are coming from the south you need to be leery of the little town of South Pittsburgh/ Jasper, Tn. This is the location of the last Wal-Mart before Manchester. I have ties to the town. The cops will actively engage you for any reason that they can. Make sure when you come through you obey the law by the book. Fix little things like broken tail lights. I've found that painting your car is not a good idea either. Kind of odd considering that this little podunk town is one the largest exporters of the white stuff around...
DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT, EVER...EVER...EVER GET OFF IN WILDWOOD, GA.
I will be letting people know of any increase in police activity around the time of Bonnaroo.
Speaking of busts, this happened a few weeks ago on one of the main highways that many of you will be traveling to get to Bonnaroo.

I just remember some guy getting taken away from the line with his hands behind his back, but I never actually knew what happened. Just saw the police taking him away.
I didn't see any busts last year, and the people at the checkpoints were very easy going, but I was in VIP... I think it was Sat afternoon when I went through and the two guys said "Hopefully you have no no words on you, because it is your right as a human being to ingest what you want! Have a good day!" They didn't check a single pocket in my backpack. Also on the way into the fest the guy had me get out and open the trunk of my car, as I began to show him the conents of the trunk he told me to stop because he just had to "pretend" like he was looking. Overall I felt like the sercurity patrols that were buzzing around on ATVs were there more to make sure people were safe, and less to rain on your parade.
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

na they want to make sure no one is vending without paying the roo tax.
I've been three years, and have had absolutely no problems with the security or police. Every vehicle search going in has been very light for my crew. They never even patted us down or anything. Going into Centeroo has never been a problem either. And I've stumbled into Centeroo completely out of my mind a couple of times. I'm not sure how I made it into the Tool show in 2007.

The only one I remember happening was when I finally went to bed Sunday a bunch of Mounties came over to this tent near ours where theyd had a tank set up all weekend. I'm pretty sure they just made them empty the cans out though.
We were enjoying corn all weekend long at our site and one time a group of mounties walks right to the left of us and I looked over to see one of them stop and come our way. Needless to say I was pretty worried but all he did was ask how we were doing and if anyone needed a bottle of water. It was quite funny.

My camp got raided last year by 4 troopers with guns and bulletproof vests! They went through everyones bags. Tore through a couple of our tents and left with 2 of my buddies in cuffs.. They found some nugs and shard! One buddy got a 1300 dollar ticket and the other got a 900 dollar fine! They were extremely rude and talked to us like we were pure trash...

HOLY HELL!!! What happened to lead up to THAT?!?!?

Well we were just sitting there in our camp on Sunday afternoon watching the sun go down, blowin some smoke and they just busted in from all angles and started yelling at us to drop everything we had and were shining spotlights in our eyes.

Man that sucks. I've been busted before (not at roo), those lights they shine in your eyes are so unnecessary. Where were you guys camped?

We got to Roo at like 6 am on thursday so we were way way back in that isolated camping section across those shaky broken walkways. I think we were in Camp Holly Good Head
only tough security I ever saw was in 2005, I haven't really seen anything too crazy enforcement wise since then. The worst thing is it was just the guys checking cars on the way in, but I think it was more the dude, Ripley, just getting off on a power trip. He kept saying "the names Ripley, believe it or not", he took my sister's pipe and she was crying and afraid she wasn't gonna get in and he was like "I hate to see such a pretty girl cry, Ill let you in but only if you'll meet me for a beer later.", what a scum bag.

^^^^^karma for the flux capacitor^^^^^
well apparently i am completely naive... stupid, or was just way too high. not only did i not see anyone get "fucked" with... i dont rightly recall even SEEING any cops... this is kind of disturbing... they can randomly search your tents? freakin LAME... we had enough naughties to put down a clydesdale.

Speaking of the hammer. I had some friends get their hammer taken away, dude told them they could only have rawhide mallet hammers? WTF
And on Thursday, while going through the checkpoint in centeroo, I got half my corn taken. The Prick threw it away in a huge black garbage bag, that another security volunteer was holding, full of corn and corn accessories. I proceeded to plead with him to give it back and even tried to give him $50 to give it back, to no avail. My friends watched the whole time I got searched it sucked. O well it was really my fault b/c I had too much maize for one person and my friends generously fed me later.
Saturday I saw a heavy set man, in his late 20's or early 30's, covered in shaving cream get chased down by four security officers on ATV's. They were screaming and yelling at him. They took whatever it was he had and told him to get lost. He then walked over to our tent and asked if he could hide out from the pigs. The cops however saw him stop by us and yelled at him to move along. He left and needlessly to say it was a strange happening.
O yea in 07 at the tool show I saw the naked guy covered in mud at the TOOL show, I love Bonnaroo lol.

I didn't see anyone getting arrested on bonnaro or busted. But the story about the guys in vests with guns reminded me of senior weekend 2 years ago. Apparently someone said "shotgun" getting into a car, and the cops got called...the whole force of wildwood, nj showed up and searched everyone in this apartment complex we were staying in. I was walking back and almost walked right into this buzzing hive of cops with quite a bit of corn...Jeezz I got lucky when I turned around and high tailed it to a diner!
I'm not sure if it was a bust but I saw one guy face down on the ground in the mud freaking out...some guy was on top of him with his knee in his back and his arm chicken winged up. Dude on top kept yelling.."CALM DOWN OR I'LL BREAK YOUR ARM!!!"
Pretty crazy.
I'm pretty sure I saw this guy. He was laying near the side entrance by the arcade i think? He was obviously so spun out he had no idea what was going on. I just remember his sad face and him picking blades of grass out of the ground. Definitely the biggest overstep of power I have seen at Bonnaroo. I promise this guy was too spun to even stand up and there's a guy standing on his back with considerable force shining a flashlight in his face? I was in his position the night before (unintentionally ate what felt like the most epic dose anyone has ever eaten ever, couldn't stand up, walk, use my hands, everything I heard was being run through about 1000x reverb effects pedals, O.B.E's, the fence was morphing into a portal to another dimension, complete loss of visual acuity, probably would have pissed my pants without my friend there to help me and i'm no n00b) the night before and I promise, if that had happened to me, I would NEVER attend Bonnaroo again. I would probably be scarred for life actually. So yeah, i felt really bad for that guy.
Also, i saw a girl inside Centeroo near the arch get busted packing a bowl. The guy came up to her from the arch entrance and took her shit. Thought that one was pretty f'in ridic too.
and of course you can't forget the guy in a wifebeater and a cowboy hat coming up to me and my friend asking us, and I quote "hey, y'all got any drugs?" If that WASN'T a cop....wtf...that's all I can say

Yes, it seems like security is getting douche-ier every year. One night last year, I was walking around the campsites with my friends, and my boyfriend was up ahead. Some dude stopped him to talk to him and was showing him something in his hand...then out of nowhere cops on golf carts zoom up to them and ask what they're doing. It turns out the dude was just trying to get my boyfriend to buy some CD, but it was pretty scary because at the time my boyfriend was actually on a mission to get *something else* and for a second I thought he was getting busted.
