they're one of the best bands i've ever seen live. im thinking they could play an early afternoon set on the which stage or an early evening set in one of the tents OR headlining a tent on thursday.

Slayer would be SUPERBADASS at Roo... would LOVE for them to headline a tent on Thursday, open with South of Heaven, and then just take it from there...

If they needed a headliner, that would not go over well me thinks. I'd love to see them, maybe late night so they can get an extended set. I just don't see them playing a short set or playing during the day. Actually i don't see them playing at all, but we can dream.

I think thats why people want them there^. ;D I'd like it, but logistically it just wouldn't work. Couldn't headline for obvious reasons, too loud for latenight, and not really a mid day act. Maybe headlining thursday unopposed.

^^^ Yup! Slayer can't headline because they don't (I don't think) sell out arena sized spaces unless its a package tour or something... but I think in the Clutch/Sword Thurs spot they work perfectly closing out a tent, with say, Hip Hop in another tent, and then something completely different in the third... cause the constant array of choices is what makes the farm for me.... and I love when Crazy Metal is one of them
remember when you all were complaining that Metallica would bring the "meatheads"? Slayer would be that x3.
By "meatheads" you mean what? Because "meatheads" are NOT metalheads, most "meatheads" go to shows to get drunk, fight a bit, be obnoxious and are usually just there cause its "cool" . Metalheads love the metal, and most love good music in general. Most "meatheads" couldn't name one single Slayer song. I would say that Metallica would have brought more of them than Slayer ever would. And did we see any of that nonsense this year because of Metallica?....not so much. With that said, I love Slayer, but I really could do without them at Bonnaroo, I'll go see them on their own tour. I vote no! ;D
I vote yes. But Bonnaroo wouldn't dare give them the kind of placing on the bill that they would need. We're talking about one the biggest metal bands in history. Not Metallica big, so they wouldnt need to headline, but I dont see them agreeing to play lower than say...what stage or which stage pre-headliner. As, in, in the Raconteurs or Jack Johnson, or Ben Folds or Willie Nelson spot.
Although late night would be perfect. I'm still completely all about a metal late night tent, like the hip-hop tent.

If we have a metal band headlining thursday, I vote Motorhead. Wait, so all those people at OAR and DMB concerts are meatheads, i knew it! ;D And to be consistent, I was pro Metallica from the beginning.

I approve this message ;D
I went to roo with a METALHEAD. Huge music fan. Loves Slayer. He failed to burn the farm down.
I still don't want Slayer, if only because my Metalhead friend would go apeshit with happiness

I say: Slayer at sunrise! Change up the whole schedule. Have the Friday headliner go on when they go on. When everything else is over bring out Slayer at say 4:00. You know Kanye time. It would be a great answer to the whole Kanye fiasco. For the record, I would go apeshit and burn the farm down. ;D

I definitely didn't mean, by your terms, a "metalhead". I have a bunch of good metalhead friends. However, I did know a fairly large group of "meatheads" who all love slayer and who are all sober loose cannons, not to mention after they've had a few drinks.
But, who am I to say anything because I have never been to a slayer concert.

Eh...I don't know. I saw them before and I wasn't that impressed. I don't know the music has energy...but they stood in the spots they came out in the entire show. If any metal act should play I'm still thinking more along the lines of Opeth.
