Langerado is moving to the magic city! Join us Friday March 6, Saturday March 7 and Sunday March 8 at Bicentennial Park, nestled alongside Biscayne Bay in the heart of downtown Miami. The 7th annual Langerado will feature 3 full days of live music on multiple stages spread throughout Bicentennial Park's 30 acres of lush tropical foliage. this is where Ultra is held FYI. I am so sad that it wont be at Big Cypress once again. I doubt I'll be there this year...this sucks.

NOOOOO!!!! I loved big cypress besides the ants and was so looking foward to going back. Not so sure about late night at multiple venues--- how safe is that gonna be?

Well, that sucks. I went to Ultra last March in Bicentennial Park and LOVED it.
Bicentennial Park is actually a really nice venue. Aside from my finger in the porto-door fiasco, everything was run very smoothly and there was plenty of space and shade. Very little sound bleed either. If you do want to go to 'Rado in Miami, Bicentennial Park is pretty nice.
However, I was looking forward to enjoying Langerado and Ultra this year...but I just can't make the trip to Miami twice.

Miami, Florida - For 2009, the Langerado Music Festival moves to one of Miami's most scenic spots - Bicentennial Park on Biscayne Bay. The move to downtown Miami promises to make Langerado a City Festival that the Magic City can truly call its own.

The 7th annual Langerado Music Festival will host a variety of international headliners and hot up-and-comers on multiple stages throughout the weekend. Langerado's past performers include R.E.M., Beastie Boys, The Black Crowes, My Morning Jacket, Matisyahu, Wilco, Ben Harper, the Flaming Lips, Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Thievery Corporation, Girl Talk, Ozomatli, 311, Ani DiFranco and many, many others.
In addition to world class music, Langerado will offer local arts and crafts, delicious food vendors, and a variety of festival activities for the whole family - all on-site at Bicentennial Park's 30 acres of waterfront. Located in the heart of one of the United States' most cultural cities, just minutes from Downtown Miami and Miami's South Beach, visitors can enjoy easy access to Miami's many hotels, international restaurants and sizzling nightlife. For six years, the Langerado Music Festival has kicked off the United States' burgeoning festival season with a full weekend of music and art in South Florida. On the plus side of this, if the lineup does end up getting me there, I can envision my mornings spent warming up on the beautiful beach each day when I wake up
Damnit. I need to start listening to people when they tell me stuff like this.
So sad.Wish more for this but they have moved locations like 4 or 5 times when it started. I'm sure they will change the next year too. And Chico 10 to 1 Jimmy Buffet is the Friday headliner.
They are usually sold seperate and pending on what it is could sell out quick. The year I went it was like that (The festival was at Markham Park and the late nights were at different venues across Ft. Lauderdale) The tickets vary in price from $20 to $40 plus they will probably offer a shuttle for like $50 bucks.
Unless you know people that you can stay with there or pack your hotel it can get really expensive.

Yup if its like Lolla it was about $200 for the fest + $20 to $30 for the after shows after all that you would almost be up to $280 once you added in ticketmaster. Next add in your hotel. Might as well just plan on coughing up a grand minimum if you fly.
and Porvida, maybe wouldnt Buffet close out the fest? A Hawaiian shirt and parrot riot to end the weekend?
Maybe. But my guess is Friday. They wanna stick with roots.
EDIT: The most expensive festival I have ever attended was Langerado 07'. Hands down. And come to think of it the late night shows were people that were playing the festival. Nothing exclusive. Except one band, Stanton Moore Trio. I can't wait to see how this one rolls out.

Nope, there's no beach on Biscayne Bay (at least not by Bicentennial Park). We stayed about 7-8 blocks from the park, and while we were on the bay and it was GORGEOUS, there was no beach I was disappointed.
Also, Ultra attracts about as many people as Langerado, so I'm sure the park can hold that many. Just, yeah, no camping for sure.
I wonder how this is going to affect WMC and Ultra, considering it's just 3 weeks afterward? The boyfriend and I are planning on going to WMC/Ultra again this year...
This is horrible. The only reason i can think that they left big cypress is maybe the seminole tribe refused to let us come back
naw man, it says in that article chick posted that one of the reasons they are moving is for the day passers, and how the traffic was hard. its a $$$ game.
Bummer...I'm not looking to go to another fest in a city.
