I brought two things that I never used. One was an inflatable matress, I never blew it up I just slept on top of it (guess I was too lazy or too tired) Two was my coleman stove. The food there was reasonable (Loved the sweet potato fries!) and I mostly ate ready-to-eat things such as pop tarts. I did, however, insist on bringing duct tape and everyone around our sight borrowed it at some point as it repairs tents, bags, and other items.

as for useless - i'd say expectations, cuz you never know what you're gonna get at Roo! ;D
here are some musts: Gatorade is a must in my opinion, I stick a few in the cooler and drink some in the morning to hydrate and cure hangovers haha. It's very refreshing, also Bandanas, I bring a whole pack each year and you'd be amazed by how handy they can come in!

and overall, comfy sandals!!!
hmmm methinks this would belong in the useFUL items thread and not the useLESS thread

This may be a sacrilege to some people, but duct tape is not necessary. I have always brought it but have never used. I'll continue to bring it because you should always have a roll just in case, but I think it is mostly a good luck charm at this point. Another useless item is tiki torches or candles. It's either too dry and the Bonnaroo police won't let you light them; too wet and, well, you know; or there is a light breeze and things go out! See you in June.

Three minutes after you set up, and then you sit down and crack the first beer, and your left generic tevo sandal suddenly breaks and is just hanging off your foot "unrepairable" and you brought no other shoes... trust me, duct tape can come in handy... I'd take a picture of it, but i finally just threw the nasty thing out the other day, but it lasted 5 days like that, with the massive amounts of duct tape

Okay, you've got yourself a point there. I guess packing extra shoes is always an option. I'll keep bringing the tape with me in case I meet anyone with generic tevos. Why don't you ask for a real pair for Christmas??

So necessary. In 2007, I had a HUGE blister that popped and only one pair of shoes with me - the band aids would not stay stuf - so I finally used some gauze from the first aid kit and duct tape - worked like a charm - all weekend long

Or when you one of your shoes has a GIANT tear in the side and its been raining all night and the grass is soaked, a giant roll of duct tape works wonders with keeping your feet dry.

Cheap $10 tent from Wal-Mart.
Me and my friend spent TOO long setting this thing up only to figure out it was wrong. The wind began to blow and it blew down SOO many times, I ended up saying screw it. I spent most of my time in Centeroo anyways. I thought it was a bargain, it will only be used as a tarp now.

Cause, although they are made cheaper, I actually find my "Rafters" to be more comfortable and they only run about 30 bucks- one pair tends to last about 1 year or approx 3-4 festies, whichever comes first

that extra ice chest. ice is expensive. i always use it 4 the first day or two but usually take it out and make it a small table. i started out with 3 and ended up just using two. we brought food to grill like steaks and some kabobs. alot of people say dont bring food and a grill but i disagree. food is expensive and i usually just want to eat when i am at my camp.

I brought way too much food to grill. We had steak, chicken wings, hot dogs, hamburgers etc. We ended up grilling some of it but most of the time I was just ready to leave my camp and throw some lunch into my backpack. I ended up living off lunchables, fruit cups, beef jerky and cheese sticks. Next year I may just bring hotdogs to grill once or twice and the rest of the time eat stuff like lunchables that I can throw in the bag and eat in centeroo.
My other useless item was Gold Bond. Everyone swore that it was necessary but we never even opened it.

Too funny, I still have a giant container of that stuff that I brought to my 1st Roo in 2006, because it seemed so urgently necessary based on this board.
And I still bring that same container every year, but I've yet to really figure out when or why I'd need it.
ditto, ditto, ditto on what everyone is saying about the food. there were four of us and we hardly ate 1/3 of the food we brought. also, i would tend to agree on the water. the water from the trailers isn't bad at all. plus we drank like 3 frozen lemonades a day, haha.
(i do disagree on the bug spray claim. maybe its just b/c we were in bfe where they forgot to mow the grass, but we used allll of our bug spray)

Also agreeing on the food issue. When you are jumping from show to show, your tent is a half an hour walk away, all you have at the tent is a burger with no bun, something awesome is about to happen (something awesome is ALWAYS about to happen), and you're exhausted and hot...and there is a stand ten feet away selling burritos or gyros or arepas or delicious fried things or frozen lemonade and it smells like THE BEST THING YOU HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED...yeah, you're going to buy something.
Oh, and you should probably not listen to this because I'm sure everybody else has experiences that would beg to differ, but my useless item - toilet paper. Obviously it's WAY better to bring it and never use it than not bring it and need it, but I never once encountered a portapotty that didn't have any. And if it had happened, I wouldn't have had the TP anyway because it would be back at my tent, so I would totally just pick another portapotty.

Oh yeah - beg to differ on that one - only time I found TP was first thing in the morning after they had cleaned - the rest of the time - I was really glad I had a small ziplock with me with TP in it - AND sanatizing wipes - hovering is good but just in case anything touched - I wanted it somewhat sanatized

A digital camera. Completely useless to me, I found I was worried too much about it, or more interested in enjoying myself than taking a picture. I handed it off to my friend and let her take all the pictures.

^ I agree re: digital cameras... I took mine last year but ended up with very few pictures... When it comes down to it I am more focused on the moment... plus I am always worried about it getting broken/wet in my pocket or my camelbak, which is the only thing I usually take with me into centeroo (so many hidden pockets... )
