Wet wipes instead of toilet paper?!?!?!? That just blew my mind. Why have I never thought of using the wet wipes for there true intended purpose?! I now remove wet wipes from my useless items list

We brought tons of food and ended up taking all of it back. The only food we did eat were beef jerky and mini packs of almonds that I put in my bag for centeroo. And some granola bars for breakfast.

A flag and pole to mark our campsite. We always seem to end up being too lazy to rig it up and just end up using all the other landmarks around us to find our way.

I put up two small flags onto the canopy over the tent on the side of the trail last year, and it helped a lot. They were only about 3 feet long, but mounting them up there, they were about 10 feet off the ground, and the little flags (think they were supposed to be a flower or something) worked great, never lost my tent.

Agreed on the food. We've gone completely loaded down before only take 90% of it back home. These days I only pack sandwich stuff and light snacks; I typically buy everything else from vendors.

We just camped next to someone with a huge flag pole with lights. Way easier.

This totally depends on the person. I am like you. I devour a few items like beef jerky and goldfish, but besides that it's all vendors. Plus, my appetite just isn't the same on the farm. But my roo buddy fires up the grill for a few meals a day. He chefs up bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel every AM, and burgers and hot dogs in the afternoon. Even if I am not hungry, I cannot say no to the breakfast!!! (And yes, I ask for my egg sunny side up!)
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Ground beef was totally useless, as it got soaked in cooler water and made for some difficult decisions....like should we still drink these beers that have soaked in beef blood for 2 days....and the answer was yes.
a blue tarp, without poles we couldn't get the darn thing high enough to be useful.
fleece jacket - completely useless the 3 years i have brought it
rubber rain boots, too bulky and blister causing to be useful

I hardly ate any of the food that I brought. You can honestly get food for pretty cheap there if you don't waste your money on things like Alligator Nuggets, which are like, ten bucks for five of them. What I did end up eating that I brought?
Trail mix (with minimal chocolate, it'll melt) Granola Bars (but you get sick of them fast) Grapes (hydrating and flavorful) Smucker's Uncrustables (much easier than making PB&J for breakfast) Dry cereal Water Beer, beer, beer!
I built a flagpole one year, 2008 when there was a huge rain storm, which basically destroyed the thing. took too much time to build out of pvc pipe and wasn't needed to find the camp.

i find the pita pockets work better for sandwiches than white bread. its easier to maneuver ifyour hands are less that spotless and you dont have trouble with the lettuce falling off. they stay fresh longer as well and they smoosh less. i tried to take diced tomato etc for sandwiches last year and that didnt work at all. i just take the already shreaded lettuce, cheese, cold cuts, pita. it makes a very easy cold fresh lunch.
