RATM is definitely bigger than Faith No More. We mentioned Jane's Addiction earlier, but it just seems highly implausible for Perry to screw over Lolla like that.
I wasn't questioning that they were bigger than FNM, I feel like I am one of a very few who really like them, what I was saying is, Rage isn't that much bigger than the Beasties are they?
11/2/19: Tool 5/17/19: Blues Traveler 5/9/19: Tool 11/10/18: Tenacious D 9/20/18: White Denim 7/23/18: Radiohead 6/4/18: Jack White 5/20/18: Tool 5/18/18: A Perfect Circle 5/18/18: Alice in Chains 5/6/18: Blind Melon
I hopes its Janes Addiction but I doubt it. I checked out Edgecrushers list, he said it was a funky band that is not on the list, but is one of his fav bands. Even though most of you might not call this band "Funky", I would. Edgecrusher, tell me we will be seeing some for of Dave Matthews. Whether is DMB,dave and Tim, or Dave & Friends there is some funk in all that stuff. Of course this is just IMO

ok i will play along. he also said heavy. not dmb.
Primus is not on his list they def got some funk with Les playing bass. and they are heavy plus they played in what 2004? Les is always at roo in some form. It has to be Primus or Oysterhead. I personally was not super impressed by oysterhead when i saw them in 06. Hoping its Primus but then again trey will be there so it could be oysterhead
i don't think anyone complain if they did. with phish and bruce it really doesn't matter who the other headliner is. they don't need to have a huge draw.
You guys need to go back and read what Edgecrusher has written. He said his taste skews heavier and that those who aren't happy with Phish and Springsteen will be excited by this band's inclusion. So I would suggest DMB or Primus would not be that group.
Honestly, if he's not bullshitting us, I think there's almost no chance it's not RATM.

^^^Primus is in no way big enough to headline, but FTR they are quite funky and heavy, and they appeal to non-jamband people.
I agree with you about RATM, though, which to me is a disappointment because they are such old news when it comes to festivals now, they don't really deserve a Saturday headlining spot.
If any of this is even true.
EDIT: OTOH, he also said that almost no one has mentioned this band, and there has been some decent talk about RATM. They aren't totally off the radar around here.

they could be third on the lineup, but not a headliner.if phish is headlining 2 nights and bruce the other.

Edgecrusher's claim was that Phish is playing a late night set after Springsteen headlines on Friday then closing out the festival on Sunday. And that there's a third headliner playing Saturday who is both heavy without being heavy metal and funky without being funk. He also eliminated Daft Punk as a possibility and said they were bigger than the Beastie Boys.

Could very well be Dave Matthews Band, Phish's manager Coran Capshaw is Dave's Management also and he owns some stake in bonnaroo, so i wouldn't seem unlikely that its DMB and they are Funky.

He said the group was on the heavier side and that if you were into heavy music, you would be happy with their inclusion.

Actually, he said that if you weren't that excited for Bruce or Phish, you would most likely be excited for this act. I think there's a big difference there.
He also went on to say they were heavier than bruce or phish, but not heavy metal, which means no black sabbath.
