you sir, have good taste. But no Fear Factory? I expected with a name like edgecrusher, you'd be a Fear Factory fan.
You are correct sir, they are definitely one of my all time favs. I can't believe I left that off the list. I've left off tons unfortunately since there isn't enough space.
Daft Punk is a "they". They also have a song called "Da Funk" and I would consider them funky. Is that it?
Nope, sadly it is not them. Hopefully in another year or two. They are very selective about playing festivals. From what I hear they actually demand a pretty good amount of money for there performances. Honestly, after seeing Nine Inch Nails twice last year, I would say that is definitely the best light show I have ever seen and would prefer it over Daft Punk.
^^really? It was my understanding that they played a lot of festivals. Coachella, Lollapalooza, Vegoose, and I'm sure other fests that I can't think of right now.
I'm pretty sure they are done touring for the moment, but they would be the perfect latenight set.
So is anybodyelse aware that Bonnaroo's imeem sports a play list with alot usuals but also a few that havn't played Roo before? Including: Bon Iver Fleet Foxes Nick Cave Sun Kil Moon Deerhunter and more! It may be the same as Radio Bonnaroo But ... I find that hard to believe they would playlist it. www.imeem.com/bonnaroo
EDIT: Oh yeah. For all you clues hounds IMEEM is a social networking site.

lol prolly NIN.
but damn, no mentions of earth wind and fire.... prince is a solid guess..Pfunk...the meters (or maybe original meters?)
from wiki "funk rock" and funk metal. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Living Colour, Jane's Addiction, Prince, Primus, Fishbone, Faith No More, Incubus and Rage Against the Machine spread the approach and styles garnered from funk pioneers to new audiences in the mid-to-late 1980s and the 1990s. These bands later inspired the underground mid-1990s funkcore movement and current funk-inspired artists like Outkast, The Black Eyed Peas, and Van Hunt.
maybe even afrika bambaataa???
i dont even know if this dude is serious. but this is a lot easier than the clues thread.

also from wiki
Funk rock
Main article: funk rock
Funk rock (also written as funk-rock or funk/rock) fuses funk and rock elements.[10] Its earliest incarnation was heard in the late '60s through the mid-'70's by musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Gary Wright, David Bowie, as well as Mother's Finest, The Doors, and Funkadelic on their earlier albums.
and Funk is a major element of certain artists identified with the Jam band scene of the late 1990s and 2000s. Phish began playing funkier jams in their sets around 1996, and 1998's The Story of the Ghost was heavily influenced by funk. Medeski Martin & Wood, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Galactic, Soulive, and Karl Denson's Tiny Universe all drawing heavily from the funk tradition. Lettuce, a band of Berklee College Of Music graduates, was formed in the late 1990s as a pure-funk emergence was being felt through the Jam band scene. Many members of the band including keyboardist Neal Evans went on to other projects such as Soulive or the Sam Kininger Band. In April 2008, they released a new album entitled Rage!
Edgecrusher do you know if TV on the Radio is gonna be there? Its ok if you can't tell me.
I would have to say that the fact that Spin magazine has direct ties to Bonnaroo pretty much solidifies them to be there. They made the cover last month and got album of the year. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they have ever played?

Earth Wind and Fire would be absolutely amazing. I saw them at our local musical festival Riverbend last year and they blew me away. I'm not even really a fan, but I have never heard a band so locked together and perfect live. It's definitely not them though...they aren't really headline material at this point in there career.
NIN...I "Wish." Trent has already stated that they are done with that type of tour. I believe he is starting to work on a new album as well, which will probably carry over during Bonnaroo time. Once he starts working on an album he doesn't stop for anything until it is completely finished...

Edgecrusher since you probably have heard most the bands on the list confirmed named to you by a friend I just have to ask are you happy with what you have heard regardless of the headliners. Are there any big surprises that us inforooers haven't thought of.

If bonnaroo does stay with the trend of hard bands, Then Rage against the Machine would be the perfect fit to make a stop at Bonnaroo. They are Funky in their style of music, however I do not think its them since they played Vegoose.

While I would love for Rage to play this year, to me they're kind of old news as far as festivals go. They've been playing festivals for 2 years.
It would be awesome though cuz I might actually get to keep my spot up front for their set, unlike at Lolla last year since the people around were all douchebags and I couldnt even breathe up there we were packed so tight.
I'm gonna take the fact that you didn't respond to this as evidence that the band you speak of is in fact the Beastie Boys....hmmmmmmm???
C'mon man, the Beastie Boys as a headliner at Bonnaroo? Not to take anything away from them because they are a great act, but I just don't see them as headline material. Springsteen, Beastie Boys, Phish? Something just doesn't look right about that.
C'mon people, think about the fact that a jam band is headlining and a singer/songwriter/folk/rock artist is too. You need to start thinking in terms of a "heavier" act, and that does not mean heavy metal either.
Yeah...I'm more inclined to think if they're funky without being funk, and heavier without being heavy metal, and they're bigger than Beastie Boys and big enough to hold a Saturday headliner in a bill that features Springsteen and Phish, it has to be RATM.
Friday: Springsteen > Phish Late Night Saturday: RATM > ??? Late Night Sunday: Phish
Seems plausible if not a ridiculous wealth of riches.
If Beastie Boys isn't big enough, Faith No More certainly isn't...
and much to my chagrin, I wouldn't say Rage would be much bigger, would they?
Going on edgecrushers "heavy" logic, I can only come up with a few possibilities, like Pink Floyd, ABB (doesn't seem big enough), The Who (wouldn't say funky in any way), Queen, U2, Prince, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic (not big enough)...
11/2/19: Tool 5/17/19: Blues Traveler 5/9/19: Tool 11/10/18: Tenacious D 9/20/18: White Denim 7/23/18: Radiohead 6/4/18: Jack White 5/20/18: Tool 5/18/18: A Perfect Circle 5/18/18: Alice in Chains 5/6/18: Blind Melon
RATM is definitely bigger than Faith No More. We mentioned Jane's Addiction earlier, but it just seems highly implausible for Perry to screw over Lolla like that.

Wait, what about Muse? Although I really wouldn't say they are big enough to "headline"
but what if Edgecrusher and/or Edgecrushers source has a small detail wrong? I could see Bruce on friday, and then on saturday Muse -> Phish, where Phish is considered more of the headliner, eventhough they would be playing a later set, similar to Jack Johnson into Pearl Jam last year. (and that would fit with the initial rumor that Phish would be headlining two nights)
So something like Muse from 8:30 - 10:30, followed by Phish from 12 - 4.
Oh man, I hope that is it. Muse is in my top 4 list of must sees. (and two of those top don't even seem to be touring anytime soon.
