i actually don't believe nin makes sense. i like them and i wouldn't mind seeing them again. but for some reason i just can't see it at roo.
Honestly I think NIN makes wayyyy more sense than, lets say, Metallica . . .
not to me. but if its true i think is a good idea to have them late night. but wow, if you thought shows like flaming lips were crowded, wait till you see crowds for nin late night.

Agreed. And NIN has headlined every major US festival that has been around at least a few years besides Roo and ACL. (Coach, Roo, Virgin, Voodoo, Sasquatch). Roo makes perfect sense.
Also, the guy never said what stage NIN would play on for late night. It could very well be a what stage late night set (actually, I would assume it would be)

it would make more sense to be which stage, as far as time goes. because they would have like 4 hr. to set up. if they played what stage you might be waiting longer than you did for kanye.

NIN is not touring with there stage set up they had last tour. They/Trent are doing a stripped down more straight forward show for the next tour. They won't need extra time to set up.
And even with the insane setup, they played plenty of festivals last year and were still able to start on time every time. So it wouldn't be an issue even if they had an insane stage setup still.

we'll see. i don't even believe they will be on the lineup.
TV on the Radio NEED to be there. I sent them a myspace message about a week ago asking if they were playing and they have yet to respond. Maybe this is a good sign. I just really want them to be there.
Perhaps with special guests Conor Oberst and M. Ward...
I predicted we might see this in '09......figured they wouldn't have MMJ back because it'd be near impossible to top last years show - but I could imagine this happening. James with a solo set, Conor with a solo set, M. Ward as She & Him set........then a Monsters of Folk set.
Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you guys. Things are crazy from what I hear in regards to final bookings with it being less than a week away from the initial lineup. Many of you have been speculating between two main bands as the final headliner. Well...it is a band, but they are only a backup. I have reason to doubt that it will be rhcp or ratm...and I'm going to leave it at that....
I'm thinking they are negotiating with The Roots to back up Jay-Z. They are going to be the house band for Jimmy Fallon's late night talk show and so that might be what's making it hard to secure them.
Jimmy Fallon can suck a bag of dicks if he screws that up for us.
It's not true.........not even a rumor. Just something I thought about when everyone started to be so sure Jay-Z would play and Edge mentioned a backing band FOR a headliner.
makes sense but I'd be way surprised if the headliners featured Bruce, Phish, and Jay-z.
there's usually one that I don't like. This would be amazing
"I want you to notice When I'm not around You're so fücking special I wish I was special But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here" -Radiohead
“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” -Benjamin Franklin
If we are getting Phish I highly doubt we are getting side projects of any of the members like TAB or Oysterhead.
IDK. Trey is there. Claypool Usually is. The Police are done so Stewart Copeland is just a phone call away.......and he loved his experiences at Roo. It's not that crazy to think.....although I also doubt we will get it. I just really hope i'm wrong and they are the superjam with guests or some stuff like that
The only way I could see Oysterhead happening is in a Superjam scenario. The Phish tour schedule doesn't exactly allow them to prepare a ready for prime time set.

I dunno about Oysterhead. They are great and all, but I just don't see my mind sticking around for that like it did last time. I was not able to comprehend anything about that performance. I guess that's what I get for being a day tripper.
This was already posted in the Rumors and Confirmations thread . . . but if you filter Bonnaroo's Myspace friends by "new", there is only 50 people . . . and three of them are . . . Phish, Bruce, and the Beastie Boys!!!
I do not think this is a coincidence at all, once the lineup is released Bonnaroo always adds the artists to their top friends and in order to do this has to start adding them as friends right now if they were not already, for me this gives a very strong indication it is Phish, Bruce, and the Beasties as three headliners . . . and im STOKED!!!!!!

I gotta say, this is pretty strong evidence if you ask me. Good thinking and find. Karma!
