Beastie Boys deserve a headlining spot and we all know it whether we want them to or not (i do). The only was I could disagree with it is if they were a latenight... I couldnt imagine having them play a daytime slot
Below is a recap of some of edgecrushers comments regarding the headliner, I still think the Beastie Boys will be there, but maybe not as the headliner?
"When I said "they're," that was meant as "they are," as in more than one person. It was not a misuse of grammar."
"C'mon man, the Beastie Boys as a headliner at Bonnaroo? Not to take anything away from them because they are a great act, but I just don't see them as headline material. Springsteen, Beastie Boys, Phish? Something just doesn't look right about that.
C'mon people, think about the fact that a jam band is headlining and a singer/songwriter/folk/rock artist is too. You need to start thinking in terms of a "heavier" act, and that does not mean heavy metal either."
"Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you guys. Things are crazy from what I hear in regards to final bookings with it being less than a week away from the initial lineup. Many of you have been speculating between two main bands as the final headliner. Well...it is a band, but they are only a backup. I have reason to doubt that it will be rhcp or ratm...and I'm going to leave it at that...."
"Let me clarify backup...as in a backup band for an artist, not for a headliner that doesn't come through.
And for the record, Phish is NOT headlining two nights."

While this is good news . . . I can just not see Bonnaroo giving away the lineup this early . . . it just does not make sense. Did this happen in years past?
