Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
They're still negotiating with Aretha...there's some concern about her ability to make it there? She's not out yet, though. I'm kinda iffy on second weekend now, too, but not because of Bon Jovi. I kind of think that'd be a fun set, but I'm not a big fan ('though I will cop to singing Living on a Prayer when alone in my car).
The real test is whether or not you stay in the car while it's parked to finish singing along...
Looks like Neil Young just got added to the NOLA fest. Might have to make the trip down, this is one hell of a lineup. To anyone who has been before, how does the vibe compare to Roo? I know there is no camping, but what about latenights/police/vibes etc. How late does the party go?

Late nights are off site at bars and theaters. They rage all night long.
Police are pretty cool. You can burn one in plain view and they don't hassle.
Vibe is great. It's a multi cultural, multi racial, all ages, locals and out-of-towners, everyone having a good time vibe. It is crowded and hot though.

This year's lineup looks like it may finally get me down to New Orleans. But looking at the hotels, they seem expensive as hell. $250+ per night. Anyone have any good recommendations for affordable yet decent lodging near the festival site?
near the festival? good luck man... to find something cheap....now in NOLA during Jazz Fest, you'd have to make your way out to Metairie and stay in Metiairie, rather than near the Fairgrounds. Nothing near the Fairgrounds is anyplace you'd really want to stay though. Hotels in the city are cheap, sorry, that's kinda the way it goes.

Aretha has been replaced by Neil Young, no joke. I am so freakin excited, I'm jumping up and down. This makes Bon Jovi totally worth it, cause after that I was about to give up on Jazz Fest man!
Apparently people on the JF forum are Pricelining hotels for around $129 a night. Nola's right, though...get a cheap hotel room out in Metairie, but make sure you have a designated river.
hey everyone...make sure to check out the shows by superfly presents at jazzfest!!
shows on the riverboat creole queen: 4/24: garage a trois 4/30: galactic 5/1: michael franti
shows at the contemporary arts center: 4/30: black keys 5/1: funky meters featuring cyril neville with robert randolph 5/2: death cab for cutie with matt costa and ra ra riot
The riverboat shows are a bit of a pain if you don't want to rush off the Fairgrounds early or want to shower before you head out for the evening. That 5/1 show at CAC looks like a possibility, though.
No, the Roots Band and The Roots are two separate groups. Dragonhead, I'm confused...are you going to be in New Orleans or are you talking about a different show.

didn't think so, but i saw a few sites listing it that way.
Definitely want to meet you and Miss Velvet! ;D Acura? Like the car? ??? Can't wait, it's the main thing that's holding me over to the Roo
I'm really excited, too! I think we met very briefly at the brunch last year. We must've, because I recognized you at Levon...maybe RV's other mommy, viciouscircle, had her at the time.
Acura is the biggest stage at JF. I typically meet up with about 20 or so friends (I'm originally from NOLA) and set up a base camp for the day. It's nice having a place to leave your stuff (chairs, whatever).
Ah dude I hope you can make it at least ONE day first weekend...we missed ya last year! I still owe you a beer I'm pretty sure! LOL!
And Meg you and Boz ARE gonna make it for at least a day...we'll figure that out next weekend when I come down.....
And SOMEHOW we are all gonna meet up either at the Fest one day or after one night....it WILL happen! First weekend Inforooster meetup MUST happen at somepoint! LOL!
Mojo...you still in at some point for first weekend?? Who else are we missing?
Let's do roll call and try to get digits...I know I got Sass, LRH, Meg and Mojo's...might still have nola's from last year (tho I think that might have been a victim of my stolen cell phone at VooDoo last year ) Who am I leaving out??
More Jazz Fest After shows...just got the email...wow...the ones I REALLY want to see are all SECOND weekend Damn ain't that the way it always goes?? Sigh...but still some pretty AWESOME SHIZ!! ;D
