Regardless of where you are in primative camping, its not all that far of a walk. Even if you're all the way in the back, it can't take longer than 15 minutes. Its not nearly as bad as being all the way in the back at bonnaroo. The biggest benefit to main stage camping is being able to chill at your campsite and hearing the music at the main stage.
A full event pass is just what they call a pass for the whole weekend (as opposed to a single day ticket.) Even if you buy a full event pass, you still have to buy a camping ticket.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
Yeah, from the family area to the festival area would probably be around 10-15 minutes of a walk. A friend of a mine had to walk from the back of the RV area to the main lodge at the entrance for something and he was only gone for about 30-40 minutes. Main Stage camping is highly recommended because it's in a flatter area than the primitive area. I seem to remember that part being on the side of a lumpy/hilly place. Either way, it doesn't really matter so much.
I'm debating if I want to do VIP for this since I'm not going to Bonnaroo. If I did, it would mainly be for the food and private bartenders, plus the fact that I would be guaranteed some shade. I am enormously heat sensitive (I actually am allergic to my own sweat. The acid makes me break out in hives!) and August kind of sucks when it comes to heat. I don't know what to do about this. Decisions are hard!

Mainstage camping here.
For all of you who were at Mulberry Harvest Fest, did you attend the Chompdown? If so, you know how awesome it is, and you better believe that it will be at Wakarusa this year!!
