OMG Chefchick you just reminded me how wonderful Phish shows are!! I miss going to them so much! I was totally excited when I heard the rumor but after watching those I am bouncing round the room ;D

and on a sidenote. just had a wierd thought. what if phis really isn't planning on playing bonnaroo this year but actually plan on using the farm to throw there very own specific 3 day festival apart from Roo. think about it all the die hard anti-phish roo fans would be happy and all the die hard phish heads would be happy too. just a thought. but coming from a phish head i think it would be sweet to have the farm to our own little phishy selves

There are so many pages in this thread it's crazy. Any who I posted this in another thread, but figured it would fit in here as well.
Here is how I see it going down if the double Phish headlining is true. Phish will headline Friday night and then again late night Saturday after the other main headliner.
O.K. I have to say that I have never really understood the whole Phish thing. But, I also will admit that I have never given them a chance. I've only ever heard a couple of their songs.
That being said, I am so committed to having as much fun at 'Roo this year as I did last year, that I am dedicating myself to listening to an entire Phish CD every day, Monday through Friday for the next six months.
Since I already bought my VIP tickets, I am hell-bent on being a Phish Phan by June. Come hell or high water.
O.K. So I'm about 4 days in to listening to Phish pretty much all day at work. I'm actually starting to get hooked. Thanks to the guys posting the YouTube videos as well. Awesome!
Between listening to them for 8 hours a day and all of the stuff I've read on the Internet, I'm actually getting very pumped up for this. I really, really hope the rumors are true.

I really hope the rumors are true......because I could see a lot of anger and/or backlash if Phish aren't on the farm this year. I would be fine with it. I'd LOVE to see them play there......but won't be upset if the rumor is false.
However......I feel some people already assume they are playing and feel it's 100% certain. Some of these people will feel like Superfly lied or something along those lines. Either way........i'm not getting hopes up until the lineup is released

well if they dont play it still gives me a great excuse not to go to graduation, and if the lineup is that bad that i dont want to bother going, then i guess someone on inforoo is gonna get miracled. i wouldnt be mad at superfly and or phish though, they didnt print anything, and im still gonna see phish this summer either way. it would be pretty funny too.

If the rumor is untrue Superfly/AC would be in the wrong ethically. By knowingly profiting from a falsehood(early ticket sales) without issuing a denial(like they did last year with Zep), many people would be rightly angered.
Whatever the opinions are of Bonnaroo's promoters, they are probably not going to do something like this. Each day that the rumor persists without a denial strengthens the likelihood that it is true.

it's possible, and kinda makes sense, but personally i'll be a lot more excited for phisharoo than a phish fest at bonnaroo, even though a phish only fest definitely would have its advantages.

I don't understand the people who say that they should do their own fest but not Bonnaroo.
WHY CAN'T THEY DO BOTH? What's wrong with that? Even if they do it on the same farm.....they can do it later in the year or another time and still sell. I feel like people should be trying to get as much Phish as possible......but we have some phans who act like people who like Roo don't deserve Phish or something like that. I really can't get understand why anyone would want Phish to NOT play Roo.
People complain it's getting away from the jam-band roots that it started with........but when a rumor of Phish playing comes around it's not good enough. Phish shouldn't play Roo? That's crazy.

main reason a phish fest at roo grounds wouldn't surprise me is because if they're not advertising the "greatstagepark.com" thing to phish then i dont know who they're advertising it to. but i still dont think its likely.
also when they headline it will be 2 nights on the main stage in the 8-12 spot, i wish i was at big cypress too but i dont think the latenight is gonna happen.

dave and friends (with trey) is one of my favorite roo shows ever and actually one of my favorite live shows ever. i listen to it aaaaaaaaaaaallllllloooooooooooooottttttttttttttttttttttttt
