As a Roo-goer who sits somewhere between "Hippie" and "Hipster", I'm happy for you guys that really want Phish, but I'm personally hoping the two nights includes one headlining slot and one late-night slot. That way you guys still get lots of Phish, but people like me who are indifferent get three headliners instead of two....if we can even get tickets that is.

maybe try lolla?
I'm in a similar boat as beau (as much as I tend to put down hipsters). But lolla? Naw way man! Too much $$, too many rules, no overnights, short sets... So far, I've got one foot in the Bonnaroo pool and it's going to take Rothbury hitting the nail on the head for me to switch over.. Two nights of a band I like but don't love (in fact, there's maybe, what... four bands around today I'd be sold on seeing back to back at a major festival) makes it a little easier for Roth to pull off. We'll see though.
As an aside, Bruce would be a friggin' blast.. I'd die if he played Born in the U.S.A.
it's always the same a5shole, with a different name, ranting about custies and selling out.
"i know phish maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, and they aren't playing custyroo. they're going to have their own festival that's free. no no, they are going to pay everyone just for showing up. yeah!".
I thought Phish fans were supposed to be like hippies... the coments on that board make'em sound a lot more like a bunch of Hipsters to me
That was my reaction...it seems like they wouldn't give a quack WHERE they see Phish,as long as they GET to see Phish. They need to quit their damn whining and be happy that they have a chance to see them play at all.
I am not a huuuuge fan but I'm happy for all of you that are....but this really will decrease my chances of swooping in a buying tickets at the last minute. I'm too broke to buy them for a few months and that SUCKS balls!
I'm not a huge Phish fan, I think they're alright, but I really don't see why two nights is necessary (for any headliner, really). That's a whole other night they could give to someone else. I just like variety in my headliners
im so happy.i didnt even go last year because i thought bonnaroo was lost but alas! just got on the ticket payment plan and am very excited to see a (hopefully) restored Roo

You guys who aren't Phish fans WILL be Phish fans by Sunday, June 14th. I know it may seem disappointing now, but I really think you're in for a treat if you give it a shot (and they practice (they will)).
i beg to differ. there are the phishheads that are insane about it which bugs me as well, being a normal, sane phish fan. i would definitely consider myself a big phish fan because i liek their music a lot and think they did a lot for music but the hype that surrounds them is absurd and that is what ruins bands like that, hype and pressure to put on their A game all the time. but either way, phuck yea
I'm not a big Phish fan, and I have to say this still reminds me of the LZ rumors from last year. So what I've learned from last year, is that Sprinsteen will be at Roo this year just like Metallica was. We all got caught up in the big name and we really didn't believe the second one, and that's who we got. So Bruce will be at Bonnaroo, and a Phish cover band is playing on Thursday. I'm content with that, because I'm only moderate fans of both Phish and the Boss

I'm pretty sure I will. I have listened to them and like them, but just never got really into them like a lot of people. I don't think I'll be dissapointed if I get a chance to go.

Then you don't understand Phish.
You also need to pay homage to the four Kings. Bonnaroo would not be here without these guys.

Phish fans area genre unto themselves.
I just thought of the brightside of the jambase people's negativity. Since they hate Roo so much and are claiming they would rather die than step foot on the farm they will not buy tickets and I may have a better shot at getting them.
Although I'll bet half of them that are over there bitching about Roo will end up going.

of course they will go. then they can bitch all weekend. those folks are driven by pointless spite and thinking everything is no longer the way it was (and is worse now) / sold out / etc.

I'll give them a shot if there are there - but cannot guarantee that I will come out of there a fan. I don't much like WSP, Umphreys, Biscuits or Moe either and everyone said that once I saw them live I would be a huge fan. I can listen to them but would not go out of my way to catch their shows
