Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'm not a big Phish fan, and I have to say this still reminds me of the LZ rumors from last year. So what I've learned from last year, is that Sprinsteen will be at Roo this year just like Metallica was. We all got caught up in the big name and we really didn't believe the second one, and that's who we got. So Bruce will be at Bonnaroo, and a Phish cover band is playing on Thursday. I'm content with that, because I'm only moderate fans of both Phish and the Boss
You guys who aren't Phish fans WILL be Phish fans by Sunday, June 14th.
I'll give them a shot if there are there - but cannot guarantee that I will come out of there a fan. I don't much like WSP, Umphreys, Biscuits or Moe either and everyone said that once I saw them live I would be a huge fan. I can listen to them but would not go out of my way to catch their shows
I am also not a fan of WP, Umphreys or Biscuits, but Phish is a whole different thing imo. I do like moe though. I love Phish as much as I love the Grateful Dead and have loved them since I first saw them live. I really think you have to see them live to "get" them.
I saw phish live two times back in the 90's and just could never get into them like my friends did. They do put on a good show but it is just not my kind of show. Thats fine with me as there will be plenty of other things for me to do and I will still get to hear them from my VIP tent as I shower and relax while preparing for some late night fun.
I do hope everyone here who realy likes them gets to see them and has a great time. ;D
the only reason I think this may be more credible than the LZ thing this past year, is that they looked like giant kanye's when LZ wasnt playing so I feel like they may have (hopefully) done some better research this year and made sure to get it from a reliable source.

I would say if Superfly did indeed have 2 nights of Phish, everything that they have done the past few years to make Bonnaroo a more diverse music festival instead of a Jam Band festival would have been for naught and pointless. it would be a bad business decision and would turn off many many fans. I'm not a huge Phish fan but I could enjoy their set... just not for 2 nights. If I'm spending money on a fest like Bonnaroo when in this day and age I have many other festivals to choose from... I want variety in my headliners.
bought my ticket couple hours ago just in case but now pretty excited after taking last year off. i think a lot of the hostility is that people want them to play their own festival, as do i. this is cool though more that i think of it. i dont know what all the complaining is cause wsp headlned two nights in 2005 and is always there. its the ph on the reunion tour. of course superfly is gonna cash in cause the people who put on the phish phestivals went on to work on bonnaroo.

I skipped WSP, Umphreys, Biscuits this year. I briefly dated a guy who listened to nothing but Phish and I liked them but his devotion annoyed me. I was like, "can we listen to something else just once?" It was a very short-lived romance.
I'm thinking Phish will headline one night and play a late night set the next (Friday & Saturday Night). With Bruce playing on Sunday, I'm guessing that Beastie Boys, Rage, or DMB will play the other.
You have no idea how happy I am the discussion has gone from will they to two headliners or a headliner late night ;d .
a headliner night - then a late night night - would not be bad to me - that way - I still have a shot for another headliner I like - and latenigt - well -most people would go to Phish which would leave more room for me at other shows - LOL

^^also this
I also get the feeling that Trey and possibly some other members of the band will get their own sets as well. I'm positive you'll see a few good sit-ins over the weekend

I don't have time to write a lengthy post, but I will have one for ya'll later.
I'm not a huge Phish fan. But, I am a huge Bonnaroo fan. Phish deserves two nights at Bonnaroo. It isn't a bad business decesion, nor does it undermine the efforts to diversify the Bonnaroo line-up. Bonnaroo wouldn't exist were it not for bands like Phish. Without the jam bands, these festivals could not exist in the fashion they do today. Last year, Bonnaroo had one "jam band" headliner, and guess what, it didn't sell out. This year, with Phish, the festival will sell out easily (especially if they play two nights).
My first Bonnaroo was in '05. That was the year that Panic headlined TWO nights. I had never heard of them, but I had not qualms with them headlining two nights. Foremost being, I go to Bonnaroo for the undercard and the atmosphere, NOT the headliners. Secondly, if AC/Superfly thinks the band deserves two nights, they must be worth it. I saw Panic both nights and had a good time. They didn't blow me away, but I thought they tied the festival together nicely.
You don't want two nights of Phish? Go to Lolla. Go to Rothbury. Go to Coachella. Go to Virgin. APW SxSW All-Good
I think many of the true phish phans on here would enjoy it if phish had a traditional headliner slot and a late night slot. The headline show is the more "traditional" touring show while the late night, jam as long as you like, format is more of what they did in their festivals.
I know phish does not have a "normal" show however they do have to modify their thinking somewhat for a show which has to fit within a set time frame vs a phish festival show in which they could play all night if they wish.
I believe would allow the best of both worlds for phish phans while still fitting in well with the rest of the festival.
This is gonna irritate some people, but really when you see them live even if you do not like it, you will be impressed with with both the musicianship, and the stagemanship these guys have.

I am gonna guess that like Pearl Jam last year ain't nobody gonna kick Phish off stage if they want to keep on playing.

Having seen Trey several times - how could I not be impressed with the stagemanship? Trey along will make me go see Phish - but I may or may not become a diehard fan

I would love it if Superfly/AC told all headliners to just play as long as they like.
Friday: Bruce Springsteen Saturday: Phish (so everyone can see at least one show) Sunday: Phish (so all the diehard phans will see their second show and people put off can leave early like lots of people do every year)
what i would like is:
Friday: Bruce Springsteen followed by Phish at 1am what stage (for the phans that will see them no matter how awesome friday night late night is) Saturday: Phish Sunday: The Dead w/ Warren Haynes (cause it wouldnt be roo without some kind of dead)
overall point: bring back the jam headliners like Phish and The Dead to get the hippies back on Roo's side but keep the diversity in the festival so the others can still enjoy it. e.g. don't put any jambands on the late night which stage if phish can get a late night what stage show.

i go to festivals for variety. if i want to see them more than once, ill follow them on tour. my favorite band is Radiohead, and i wouldnt want to see them two nights in a row. its a friggin festival. will i be impressed? yes, but not enough to miss someone else to come back and see them another night.
