I googled "is AC/DC" lyrics and the only two good answers I got were the afore mentioned Anvil and White Stripes songs. So following this line of reasoning it's either "she" or "edison". I like the Edison school of thought better because it's from a better known band. However it could be "She and Him" which is a more likely pick for Bonnaroo. Are there any other performers that would fit the "She" label?
That Edison Glass band seems like a very up and coming rock band... especially if they're on MTVu right now... and I could see them at a lot of festivals this summer.
Maybe DJJD took a low-caliber band on the lineup, that has a great tie to AC/DC through the White Stripes song who AC/DC was once a rumored band, and ran with it. I see a strong possibility there.
Those other Edison bands seem a little too low-low-key to even be worthy of mentioning.
And sure Edison Glass seems a little emo, but they have an indie feel that scenester kids seem to enjoy to that is found in bands like Steel Train, the Get Up Kids, Coheed, etc... so I think it's a good possibility.
And if they're going to be there, I bet you 100 bucks its because they'll be on tour this summer with a bigger band. Maybe they'll be on tour with the Get Up Kids!

Edison Glass has to be the band... they are on Credential Records which is based in Nashville... it would make sense as to why they might have been seeked out for a Manchester festival!
And they're not that small of a band if you look at their listens on Myspace... they're probably comparable to a Steel Train sort of act. They headlined their own little tour this summer.
And if we're lucky... we might see them at 'Roo with the Smashing Pumpkins this year, as they share a producer and could possibly end up on tour together.

How about Alice In Chains (AC)? They are reuniting and we know how Roo looks to have reunited bands. It also fits with the "dirt" reference. I'm not sure how excited I would be to see them without Staley though.
How about British Sea Power? - Britain is a member of the EU, but doesn't use the Euro. - The Sea separates Britain from the rest of Europe. - AC/DC = Power
Plus, I would to see them at Roo.
Just bumpin' cos it's just as valid as Edison Glass, if not more so and they are already big on the European festival circuit.
What was the lowest tier band that he gave hints for last year? I don't seem to remember him giving out clues for cafe acts, but I could be wrong.
We don't really know because we don't know the answers. We had Pearl Jam, Metallica....the "four certain birds" clue we think was probably Abigail Washburn and the Sparrow Quartet, I believe...and I know one of them was Ben Folds. I don't remember what else and I'm too lazy to try to figure it out right now. But there's a lot more clues than the four answers I just thought of, so they could have been small acts. And either way, I definitely expect clues for small/cafe acts this year - djjd got in a wee bit of trouble last year after we figured the big names out too fast, so this year he either has to be more cryptic, stick with smaller names, or both.
well its after christmas...and djjd said the bonnaroo radio would be updated --'but not before christmas'. Time to spend endless hours waiting for clues on the bonnaroo radio again

I second this. I think we will see more clues directed at smaller acts. Plus, a lot of the big name give aways from last year were already acts that were heavily rumored to play the festival: Pearl Jam, Metallica, Plant/Krauss.
OK- I gotsa go back down in the Radio Roo studio. Keep them ears big and open. Ho ho ho...ho.
I have cracked this one!!
ok the slang in this message more than likely points to a rapper. now if u notice there is an extra ho on the end of ho ho ho. This indicates someone who uses ho alot or has a very distinct way of sayin ho. also the big ears thing is a clue too..ill give ya some hints...
H to the Izzo.... Big Pimpin... I got 99 Problems but BONNAROO AINT ONE!!!!!!
This has nothing to do with the clues, but I was always skeptical of the jigga man playing Bonnaroo (although I love him, I just don't know how well he'd fit there). Once you said "I got 99 problems but BONNAROO AINT ONE" I became convinced he'd fit in. In fact, I think he would flippin KILL if he opened up with that song and used that line. Anyway, looking forward to more clues.
Jay-Z would be amazing at Bonnaroo. I am huge in to classic rock and jam bands, but my roomate in college like jay-z so we went to see him in baltimore. Jay-z hands down put on one of the best show I have ever seen, and like most of you I have seen my fair share of shows! I would love for some late night JayZ
But I don't see how the not in Europe fits in with this. I just keep thinking the DC part has to do with Capitol Records. I guess "not in Europe" could be a hint to D.C. (Capitol).

Wow, that phish and Jay-Z collab was cool. The 99 Problems mix wasn't really anything special, but I really liked how Big Pimpin sounded. You guys see Trey in the background smiling the entire time? I thought that was the coolest part. If Phish is gonna be at Roo, and Jay-Z is there as well, something like this would be so awesome to see.

i think you're onto something...sounds more likely than the "edison" idea...and if jay-z will be there, coldplay probably will too...i know coldplay takes a lotta sh*t, but i saw them in 05 and they really are amazing live...chris martin is a nut...the show i saw was at riverbend in cincinnati...during that show, chris martin got off stage, ran to the back of the pavilion and (if you've ever been to riverbend), he climbed up the red metal thingies that hold the roof up...i can't remember what song, but martin was singing while climbing like 20 feet above the audience...heights are obviously not a fear to this man...they should've played bonnaroo years ago, but with their last album, i think the time is perfect for now, or next year...as for jay-z, i don't much care for pop star rappers...

i'm not a big fan of the main stream rappers myself, but jay-z is in a league all of his own, IMO. i'd definitely see jay-z perform, but i can't say the same for coldplay. they just bore me.
