Is there a cheaper way to rig your own EZ-up? Tarp to car to some kind of post in the ground? Or should I just buy one and save myself the trouble?
My dad made his own weights for ours but we've used the spiral stakes used for dog runs (or what not). I was just asking my friend how we'd secure it and we'll probably figure something out with the car.
Plus if the wind picks up horribly, just drop it three or four notches and you'll be alright.

Just got my Coleman Instant Tent 6 10'x9' and CamelBak Mule 100 oz. Hydration Pack form www.campmor.com all for 220$ great website for discounted camping gear free shiping on orders 140+. As far as tents go i was a boyscout so I've put up alot of tents that took forever and were so complicated you had to be a rocket scientist. This Coleman is awesome had it out of the ups delivery guys truck and set up in the yard in less then 3 mins all the poles are already attached so u basically just unfold it and pull up in the middle and it amazingly fit back in the bag when i took it back down
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Speaking of Campmor (love that site!), their hot deal for the day is a head lamp for $15. I think I got a basic one for cheaper last year, but this looks like it's fancy pants.
I purchased two. I put them together and they seem very sturdy and are a snap to put together. They are portable and have a carrying bag. Weight limit is 225lbs. If you are tall they may not be ideal. My son is 6' and it kind of hyperextended his knees, easily resolved with a pillow underneath them though.

Just an idea for anyone hesitant to spend the money that a Camelbak cost. You can buy replacement hydration bladders at sporting good stores, even Walmart and Kmart. They are about $9. They aren't the huge ones, I think 35oz or so. I bought one last year and just slipped it into a regular backpack I had around the house and fashioned a hole for the hose to come out of. The backpack was a huge one so held all of my Centeroo snacks, blankets, sunscreen, GoldBond etc etc etc. $9 bucks.

Posted in the "Tarp" thread but figured it fit here as well.
Sportsmansguide.com has cheap tarps (blue on 1 side, silver on the other with reinforced grommets) for VERY cheap. Not sure of the quality but for the price, even one time use would be okay. I have tons of tarps but got a few more in specific sizes I needed to ease camp. "construction."
prices are : 8x10 = $5, 10x12 = $8, 12x16 = $13, and up
Just returned from Target where I bought 4 of the little solar path lights for $2 each. I've brought them to Roo for the past two years, and I think they great. They don't necessarily provide a lot of light; however, they are wonderful for helping you find your campsite among the many and for helping those that might not see your guy lines.
Found a hat and rain boots in target's graden section. Saved about $7 each item instead of getting the ones at the fron of the store in the shoe and accessory section...who knew?!
I know this might be late but was checking the Sears site and noticed they are having a Midnight Madness sale until 5 am central, online only, tonight. It takes an additional 10% off of the sale price.
Sorry for the late notification here but just got off of work.
Target in my area has 60 Lumens Energizer head-band lights on clearance for about $7.50 (marked down from $30)... It's pretty nice from what I've used so far... but like I said it's clearance here, might not be where you are...
We were at Lowe's over the weekend and at the end of the lighting isles toward the back of the store they had a small pallet of Coleman Family-Size Lanterns for $9.99. They were regularly marked $19.99, we bought two.
