I'll get you guys some current pics up by this weekend. I have actually been meaning to do this, just havent gotten around to it. The farm looks cool right now, no leaves on the trees and everything is dead.
haven't been by lately myself...roofan do you know if they have put in any permanent "facilities"...thats something i have totally been waiting for since they bought the farm...."bought the farm"...haha that's funny
No there have been no facilities built, right now about the only difference you can see is the additon of big lights throughout the property. Like street lights, theres will eliminate the gas burning gernators that power the temporary lights that have traditionally been throughout the campgrounds. These light run off the local electricity grid. So no running generators and no exhaust.
There have been some ground improvements like grading and leveling. They also have left alot more "stuff" just lying around in plain view than in years past.
I will make a point to get some pics this weekend....

This article has some general information about the plans for the site. Mentions that the first thing they are working on for 2009 is putting in the electrical system to supply power to festival activities instead or relying on generators.
Also if you visit ww.greatstagepark.com, which is the site for advertising Bonnaroo grounds for other events, it mentions that they already have 12 wells throughout the property with electric pumps to provide water instead of having to truck water in and store it on site.
Imagine what it would be like to walk around out there right now, as barren and cold as it is with just those scarce remains that last year-round. Looking at images of the farm when the festival is long over is kind of like looking at images of the ruins of past civilizations!
Yeah, that is what I was getting a pic of, the light pole, there are several of them on the property and they run off electricity, no more generatros in the campgrounds running the lights....

Wow, it's weird to see the fountain from this angle -- it looks like a completely different place. Peaceful in a different sort of way. I've seen pics of the farm through the years of off-seasons, but none has struck me like this one. Thanks for that.
